I asked a few places today who were certainly in the know. There are pro's and cons for both. I'm sure this topic will get going though....from those who know.

Don't they charge delivery anyway? I looked at that site the other day.....

Wow, good price. These plasmas are just getting cheaper and cheaper....

they will be like laptops soon, cheap as chips

£319.94 here, apparantly still in stock, although i'm unable to work out if they have a delivery charge on this item.
If someone has used them before or wants to register to find out, that's up to them.
But still a good price and even if it has £25 delivery charge, will still work out cheaper.

The other alternative is to get Lasky's to price match, but the item must be in stock at the rival retailer.

I've scoured the internet for weeks to find the best deal within my budget.. I did NOT see this.hahaha. I reckon I'm happy with Amazon though. Pretty solid sellers. Thanks for this though, dude.

Nice price but only HD ready. Ok it doesn't make much difference with broadcast stuff but if you have blu ray you will want 1080p at this size

^^^ AVOID THESE ^^^

It's a scam. No contact details (phone/address). It's basically a phishing site to get peoples card details...
Remember, if it's usually to good to be true... it usually IS!

Well spotted if true, I would probably go with Amazon as they are tried and trusted sellers. Obviously depending on the savings (_;), if not them certainly an other reputable seller we have all heard or had dealings with in the past.

Its fine, ignore him, basically you can input a 1080p signal and it will downscale to 720p for you, personally 720p vs 1080p on anything smaller than 50" isn't worth the argument.

This tv is HD Ready (720p). Full HD is 1080p... regardless, it gets mostly excellent user reviews:

Yeah, i'm not saying this is a bad TV as it's obviously not. Just pointing out about it not being 1080p for blu ray/PS3 etc. A decent 1080p panel is quite a bit extra http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/lg-50pk350-50-inch-widescreen-full-/744324

Yeah, saw that, but none anywhere near where I live...£25 delivery on top of that. Cheers

I have a 50 inch pj550 and comparing Dark Knight on blueray to a 32" lg 1080p lcd the quality of the 720 plasma is miles better. Plus ps3 games are 720p. Useless numbers :)
#22
Got one of these a few months back from Currys for around this price using discount codes/quidco etc and am still really pleased with it - especially the usb input. Well worth this sort of money.
#23
Got this from amazon 2 weeks ago for 350 delivered and once set up right the picture is superb with hd tv content. I dont have a blueray player so 1080p is of no use to me anyhow. This is a great tv especially for the price!
#24
Just remember,

Plasma tellies aren't good in bright rooms. Besides the 1080p does make a difference ONLY when watching blu ray films as anything else is just 720p at the moment, with the exceptions of a few PS3 games i.e. Lair

I've read different views on the usb port. Some people say that it's compatible with playing Divx. Have you had any luck with that, or just mp3 and jpeg, etc?

Had no problems at all with the divx although have just double checked and it was the 42PJ550 that I bought not the 350, so maybe that's where the difference lies between the two? Sorry :|
#27
The 550 plays divx but the 350 does not.
#28
The M&S Samsung P42C450 deal would've been much better...expired way too fast though :(

For those who bought it, It looks awesome...
for those who didn't, may be you should put £40 more and get the Samsung PS42C450 for £399 @ Amazon!

Cool. It's not that I needed it. Just wondered if what I'd been reading was fact....Thanks.

Hi nice find for the LG 42PJ350, however if you're looking for USB playback for DivX stuff go for the LG 42PJ550 or 650 version which is about the same price (when on offer and posted every now and again on here), a lof of people both on Amazon and also previous postings of this item have normally found this model has lockdown on the USB socket and can only play pictures and music files, not any video playback, I'm not sure why LG have done this but have found the 42PJ550 and 650 appear to be unlocked..

Have some heat.

I got the PJ550 a few months back after seeing the deal on here... watched Shutter Island .mkv through the USB and was blown away... the picture was immense - don't have a 1080p tv to test but can't imagine it could better the above...
#32
Is it worth getting now or do people think prices will go down for these tv's by Christmas time?

No idea, although don't forget the new VAT rate comes in after Christmas time, so between now and Chrimbo is a good time to buy..

Yes if your computer and TV has a HDMI port or VGA port.

Depends on what you're after. It all depends on personal opinion so you really need to see them running side by side.

Plasma's have warmer colours and look more natural. Whereas LCD's have the higher resolutions and require less power......

Voted hot btw, great price.

Thanks for this, didnt know.which is your fav?

Real happy that folks who know have commented wisely here today. Thanks!!.............Oh yeah, I put the wrong price too. Should be £359.94 and not £359.99! hahahaha

Nice one! As I said in an earlier post, I've been scouring the internet for one for about 3 weeks now. Moving house next week so timing in perfect! Seems to be a lot better than I first thought according to reviews I've been shown since ordering......Awesome, thanks again!
