It not a bad price if you want 720p picture, I would be tempted to go a bit higher and buy a 1080p TV.

Didn't waste anytime getting that one in there.

Good set for the price, only big negative is that the screen on this model is very reflective.

1080p brigade in with the first post, quick off the bat today.

doubt many could tell the diff between 1080p and 720p on a 42" tv. Too many people obsessed with stats of things, rather than just evaluating by how it looks -which is what any sane person should do.

I'm confused. Was I the only one of us living in some parallel dimension where only a couple of years ago a plasma tv was a £1000+ luxury item owned by footballers and scrimped and saved for by us great unwashed? This is a total bargain to get a hdtv and a plasma one at that for a weeks wages! Sometimes I think we forget just how far we have come and often get complacent, always wanting more when this would do very well.

Agreed, this is cheap as chips and 90% of 'normal' people don't neeeeed a 1080p set!

I have the 550 of this, which combined with sky+HD is superb IMO.

The screen is a little reflective, agreed.

I got the 550 the other week from Currys and the picture is absolutely jaw-dropping.
Had a 32" LCD that won the Which Guide telly of the year 4 years ago, and it's absolute cack compared to this plasma. Now I'm not sure if that's cos the LCD was a cack one, or because plasma knocks LCD into a cocked hat, but the difference is spectacular.

One massive draw-back is the screen is like a mirror from side angles, which i gather from googling around after I bought it is a common problem with Plasma tellies.

It's problem for the more 'low-end' sets as they lack the anti-reflective coating of higher up models, which do a good job of nullifying most of the ambient light that hits the panel.

Looks a good price.
720p is good with me also.

I've also myself brought the 42PJ550 one on offer the other week from here, I'd agree with the above comment, it's an absolute steal of a deal if you can get it and don't mind the spec. I posted this as I came across it last night, and know a lot of people would be interested in picking up a good quality cheap plasma for that kind of money..

Do you seriously expect anyone to give your views any kind of respect or worth when you cant be bothered to write a coherent sentence.

If that is the case then obviously it went right over my head & i would withdraw my comments with a slightly red kisser.
