They have a deal at the moment. They give you a free 5yr guarantee for some TVs. I went to the store and asked them and paid £650 for the TV and got the free guarantee ;)
I posted a link to the receipt in the description

There is much debate surrounding this but there have been some consume tests that seem to sway towards passive.
Issues such as crosstalk and flickering are common with active technology and as you quite rightly mentioned, there is an impact on cost with active glasses especially if you have to get 4 or so pairs.
Active is full HD as it displays either one frame or the other, passive is 720p as it displays both frames at the same time, hence no flickering.

Not 720p, but somewhere in between. Passive 3D is the system that reduces the resolution of the 3D image. A Full HD 3D 1920 x 1080 Blu-ray is presented at 1920 x 540 pixels; Sky 3D, which transmits in a 1920 x 540 resolution side-by-side format, is delivered at 960 x 540
LG say this is not the case, since your brain puts the 2 half HD images together to create 1 full HD image (in much the same way it does for interlaced images). What they neglect to mention is that if you follow this logic, then full HD using Active 3D is in effect double full HD.
I have tried quite a few 3D TV's & monitors, and imho Passive is the best - not because it's the highest quality, but because it is the easiest to watch, uses simpler technology & also the fact the most 3D content is SBS which is two half HD images side by side - so any advantage Active 3D has won't be seen.

Not sure that I agree with LG's spin on the 3D Full HD, but none the less I would recommend passive over active any day of the week, I am in the technology installation business and have tried lots of different active and passive sets and as the dude says above, passive is much the easiest to watch and I agree.
