Probably one digital tuner and one analogue I expect :santa:

Useful to have the 2x HDMI connections for later on :santa:
#4
do you know if this is available in store at the price 1279?

Thanks
#5
At that size, I would expect 1080p.
#6
At that price for a Plasma, I don't expect it to have 1080p.
For 1080p LCD, yes I do expect it at that price.
#7
Yes it is available in Store for £1279 and the half price tv stand offer is also available instore also.

They are in the process of making the ticket reductions right now.
#8
does anyone know if this is really a good deal . Looking to buy , but there are so many diff types and styles. Or is it the overpriced comet again .???
#9
Here's a thread about them at avforums

#10
Is this a realy good deal?? Are you serious? A 50in Plasma for 1279!!! And deduct any further discounts you might have.
#11
If John Lewis sell this, definately worth getting it from them for 5 years free guarantee
#12
Well I just couldnt wait any longer so I cancelled my web order (lost the £50 through Quidco but never mind) and bought instore collected and set up within an hour.

I'm very pleased with it to say the least, Picture is great even with the settings turned down for the run in period (as suggested on avforums).

If anyone was contemplating this deal and wanting to pick up, the box is absolutly HUGE. We had to remove the outer box to get it in a Picasso and then it only just fit - apparently they must be transoprted in the upright position and not layed down.

Unfortunately John Lewis don't stock this set :(

Went to Currys to ask if they could better the deal and the best they could do was a price match with Comet at £1280.

Time for a look on Empire Direct website.

Still a great price and getting tempting ....
#14
Currys have it on their site now and with codes you cvan get it down to £1150 and then quidco and any cashback credit card, thats under £1100 to me, oh dear, here comes the credit card

EDIT: Its £1500 via quidco, thats cheeky

Best I can do is £1150 with an extra years guarntee by paying with my Nationwide credit card. Plus openeing quidco too, and hoping somehow it tracks.
#15
Ok, got this to come up at the right price through quidco, so after vouchers and quidco, its down to £1111
#16
Getting a price of £1499 on Currys before discounts. Its on the Dixons site too for £1279 then you can get the £40 off. Will keep trying on Currys I guess!
#17
It switches between prices. I know it works with this link but then you don't get quidco I guess

http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/store/cur_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1254376948.1167159978@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccddaddjkedgfflcflgceggdhhmdfjg.0&page=Product&fm=null&sm=null&tm=null&sku=836047&category_oid=

So the codes to use are BPPOD10 and PRFREEDEL

I think the last one is right. should be £1151.99
#18
wow what a beauty. shame it wont fit in my living room, a 32" is a snug fit in the corner lol.
#19
get an extension, u know u want one
#20
Spend a bit more, get the Sony KDS55A2000 for £1500 (1080p and 55"). Price is dropping like a stone too, seems to go down £100 every month.

Having said that, if you want a HD plasma, this is a v nice price.
#21
Should've ordered earlier having just discovered that noth Currys 10% off and free delivery codes have expired :(

Latest in-store offer is the plasma along with a stand and an LG home cinema system (LG LHT550TB) for £1599.

Cheers,
Neil

Going to go and cry into pint for missing this :(

this tv was in currys last week for £1799 and in bennetts for £1500.00 and we nearly brought...glad we didn't as it has gone down...
i have also noticed it in currys for £1500 and this includes a home cinema set..
hope this has helped
happy new year!!!

Dixons also have it for £1279, there are a few coupons about that bring it down about 5%, and if you pay with your egg money card you get an additional 5% back. They offer the surround system for £150 iirc
