This is Dixons exclusive version of the more common market model, the LG 50PC55.

This 50'' HD Ready Plasma TV is equipped with 100Hz technology, making it perfect for watching fast moving action movies and sport. Unlike standard TVs which are displayed at 50Hz, 100Hz TV works by making an extra frame between frames, which is an average of those either side. These frames are then added back to the footage in real time, creating a smoother motion when watching fast moving scenes.

Features also include New XD Engine image processor and Clear Filter Pro technology.

This package also includes the stylish LG HT752 DVD Home Cinema System with 700 Watts (RMS) surround sound and HDMI connection to upscale your DVD image. Also included for the complete viewing solution is a black glass TV stand.

Sorry forgot to mention how to get the price. Use the £50 off code in the vouchers section and if you go via Quidco or Egg (or both) you will get a futher reduction.

I have voted HOT, as I have just orderd this using the above, Quidco is tracking @ £35.84 as well as, also bearing in mind that this comes with a home cinema system and a stand not bad value for a 50" plasma.
I know its not a true 1080 system,

Currys were doing this £1299 sale price or £1499 normal price last month. So looks like a good price, voted hot.

DigitalDirect are doing the same tv (LG 50PC55) for £721. No home cinema mind but still a great price for a 50"

They have removed this model from there line-up. The 42" was only £519 which is a hell of a price for this TV.

hi,

i bought the lg 50' that's amazing. Just wondering though - can you only use the home cinema speakers when you're watching dvds or can you link it up so they work when you're watching tv? At the moment the speakers are great for dvds but you can only use the tv's built in speakers when watching sky.

cheers

It will be the Serano SB1050, which retails for £200 in Currys. May not necessaibrly be worth that, but for reference.

i have been on the look out for a new tv but being slightly ignorant to all the tech was still looking for a widescreen package, from what i can see this isnt widescreen does this make much of a difference? should i hold out for a different offer...not good at making decissions alone
#15
It is widescreen, this is a large problem with consumers and their brains. Widescreen is the term coined for 16:9 screen ratio. However retailers and consumers really stuck the word to widescreen CRTs. Now LCDs and plasmas are around, which are mostly using a widescreen ratio, but they're not wanting to call it widescreen as not to confuse the consumer.

Got any pics of what it looks like wall mounted, i've got mine on order but gotta wait until the 20th october for it to come. Ill have to do with the 37" thats on there at the mo :-D. Didn't get the £50 discount as they had sold out online but they did throw in an hdmi cable and an audio cable for good measure.

Hi All,

My Sound system has turned up today and the TV is supposed to come tomorrow. Can't wait. I will put up some pictures when I have it up and running. Speakers were delivered by DHL and the TV is coming from Dixons in the NW.
