How do LG plasma compare to Panasonic?
google is your friend!! ;-)

The general feeling is that LGs 2010 range was right up there alongside the Pannys especially at this price point. Take a look on AVF and you will find that many have chosen the PK350 and PK590 over the Panny G20. Much cheaper also than the Pannys!

Cant make my mind up whether to go for this or wait for the new models due in a few months!
I got this on the last thread about it, cost £20 more and i thought that was to cheap to let go!!

At this price its awesome! lol
I was tempted by the 590 but at this price I might think again about the 350

i am going to check down the sofa tonight, want one, but where will the money come from.
got the 590 for the 4 hdmi, the freeview HD, the netcast and streaming capabilities.
if you dont have game consoles for streaming or a networked media player, these extra features are worth it
i've got a media pc connected to my tv at the min, so that dont worry me!
Think it's time to take the plunge. Cheers OP
Does this need a costly dongle to use internet like Sony ? , was planning to buy sony , but dongle price pulling me back ... :(
according to the info on dixons and other sites the 50pk350 does not have internet capabilities, i think the 50pk590 does tho
I've had one of these for around 3 months, and I'm getting it swapped out tomorrow for a 47" LG LCD.

There was an "electrical" buzzing noise coming from the back, and if you squeezed the back panel it stopped, according to the engineer who came to repair the tv, it's caused by 2 of the internal boards which were swapped out under warrenty. The problem was still there. This isn't the normal Plasma buzzing noise which people think, it was clearly audible over my speakers and was completely random.

The engineer also said it's a known problem on these LG's. So it's something to be aware of if buying, give it a google.

just ordered with DIXON5 code price dropped to £514.06 great price maqny thanks
Hi guys, I've had one of these since July, I have to be completely honest and tell you that i is simply awesome. I love it so much, although at the time I paid around £540 for it. The previous year I bought a 2009 LG 50" plasma and had nothing but problems with it and had it replaced several times before getting a refund. The 2010 plasmas were hugely improved and they also look less cheap than the 2009 versions.

I seriously believe that at this price you should just buy it, enjoy it for a good few years and then re-buy. I know before I bought into plasmas I worried about things like dead pixels and image retention, but these things are things you care about for the first few weeks of having the plasma and you eventually just let go and enjoy it. So trust me, go for it, its totally worth it and no theres no catch with the price, i've had nothing but good experiences with this TV.

PS: Its bloody thin.
Amazing tele, I brought one last week when it was more expensive and it was a bargain then!

It can also play divx from the usb slot, it's played everything I thrown at it so far, including a 1080p mkv of Gladiator, which worked perfect and looked amazing!

Just get one and enjoy :-)
I've had it for some months now. AMAZING!
Those that are recommending it - are you recommending the 350 or the more expensive 590?

I'm sure they both use the same screen but the 590 has THX, more HDMI sockets, Netcast and Freeview HD and possibly other crap that I don't need.

So for a 50" screen to just use for playback is this very much recommended?
The pk790 in terms of styling is way behind the sleek pk350 id of thought they would of been similar in apperence but the 350 won when i compared the units today in my local currys its a shame as id of like a freeview hd plasma but ive purchased a 42" panny as my 56 week old 50pq6000 lg plasma i had decided to die with a panel fault :( i just cant trust lg again

I thought the 350 and 590 looked identical?

I can't spot any differences when I look at them side by side on the Curry's web site!
I bought it when the price was 570, with 5% off came down to 541, I mailed customer service about price drop... They called and told me that I used 5% to bring it down to 541, and since the 5% discount is no longer valid, I will not receive any refund. However, When I tried the code right after they lowered the price it worked... now its broken.

A great set for the price, amazing quality... I bought this for my bedroom, and its absolutely massive... Reflection is apparent, I always hated reflection on my laptop... however, on TV its not as worse... however, my room is not brightly lit.. so, fine with me..
Bought. Comes next week. Cheers again OP.
Cheers OP! Just got this past the Boss. Will either look fantastic as the main TV or fabulous in the Home Cinema room ;)
Just odered.. still available with 5% discount and 4% quidco
Just wondering did anyone else order this TV and have you received it yet?

Mine arrived early this morning and just curious to know if anyone has had any problems or if everyone is really pleased with the TV, especially for the price?

This really needs to be un-expired as this offer is still valid!

Mine is due tomorrow afternoon, old TV sold and a space waiting for it. What are your first impressions?
Love it, looks great hanging on the wall :)

Got the contrast turn down a bit to run it in, very pleased to get such a great TV for under £500 :)
