Now this is what I call a bargain just wondering the price keeps going down everyday
#2
wow this is going to get some serious heat

Great deal.

Would be good to put the price and retailer in the title.

IM literally buying this now from dixons.
u get cashback also

whats the code to get 5% off?
#5
It's getting harder and harder for me to justify not buying one of these ! I've got a decent surround sound setup so the tinny sound doesn't matter and I have Sky HD so the lack of Freeview HD isn't important. Can someone think of a reason that this wouldn't be a good buy ?

There was a Samsung 3D one for around £100 more. I'm not in the market for one currently, but I would go for that. In fact, I very nearly went for it anyway when it was around £1000 with a 3d Bluray Player and 3 3D glasses thrown in.

nectar points @ Amazon.

Not as good as cashback but hey-ho it is something.

are you suggesting the samsung tv?

if you are, note that it is only 720p, not full hd.

damn, now you tell me LOL.

how much points do you get, and how much does it equate too?
#16
Every 500 points is worth £2.50, look for our double value offers where 500 points = £5.

hardly any points, topcashback is alot better than nectar points. although any discount is better then nothing

got one of these before xmas, and really happy with it. It only has 1 rear HDMI, so I switch it via a yamaha rx-v667 amp. works very well
#18
is it possible you could call dixons and try to make them beat the price? or even richer sounds for the matter.

just called richer sounds to ask if they would price match or beat it, no chance. To get a price match the tv has to come with 5 year warranty

all these bloody term and condtions, oh well, cheapest yet, cant wait to get the tv.
#24
This may help someone who's interested in quality rather than just price.

I came to the same conclusion late last year when prices were falling but I went with another deal which fell through thanks to Crap Buy and then were up a bit to the LG 50PK990.

Sky makes Freeview or Freesat redundant and if you have a decent sound system then the issue of limited HDMI ports is a non issue. I would have this set except for an offer on the one I got and if I could put this in he bedroom, I'd but in an instant.

ahhh soo tempted

On one of the Amazon reviews the guy returned three of these with dead pixels before finally accepting one with a single dead sub-pixel.
This is definitely a budget panel, there are comments about the build quality.
That said most other reviewers seem happy and if you don't like it you can always return it.

bear in mind the LG plasma screens are notorious for reflections. Imagine watching movies with dark scenes, but yet you can see your own reflection. It ruins you movie experience.

Looks like this one has 2 HDMI is it one front and one rear ? I cant see if it has VGA for PC

I am guessing it is the same guy on Avforums and Amazon as he also mentions the poor audio and everybody sounding as if they had a lisp ... whether it is a genuine purchaser or just somebody trolling you can make your own mind up.8)

Dunno about Amazon, I received mine from Dixons, bought it on 31st Jan and on the back I read manufactured date as Jan 2011... Made in Poland... mine was just perfect... nothing wrong with it...

Amazon have just put the price up to £514 !

I ordered it just in time .. Good price been deliberating for a while now , sub 500 sold it for me. Tks

I got this via the Dixons offer, can't say I have noticed any Dead pixels and there is no buzzing on my set. I think it is superb value for money and the picture quality is excellent. It does have a highly reflective screen, like all budget models, so careful placement a must. Or in the cellar like mine is.

There is a review on AVForums and also tells you a bit about calibration:
