Only 2x HDMI's which is a shame.....

Granted many will run all HDMI's through an AVR but not everyone wants too...
#6
erm after doing a 3 second search i see delivery from Richer sounds is £24.99 hic !!,wouldn't fancy lugging a 50 inch plasma about,i think most people would like it delivered for an extra 4 quid.

at richersounds you also get a 5 yr guarantee for less than £45 ( £9 a year) more than this tv. if you require the extended quarantee then that is the better deal but this is a great price delivered
#8
Finally took the plunge and ordered, thanks OP!

Looking to get one of these, but can you pick your delivery day even with free delivery?

Dont think with Amazon you can do a named day delviery. Worse case you order, Citylink dont deliver and you call them to rearrange to a day that suits?

Once it's been sent out, will they assign you a delivery day? Thing is, I have a week off later this month, but I don't want to sit in all week wondering what day it might arrive.

Good price in my opinion heat added op & i would feel a bit of a d*ck jumping in a taxi with a 50 inch plasma i would stick to taxis for a night on the town ;)

I bougt an LG 42" 1080p 600hz last year and its the worst TV I've ever had, it absolutely cannot handle any dark colours, everything just looks black, it also makes a horrible high pitch noise when you change the channel, and if the sound has to handle a large explosion it sounds awful. I've read other people have had the same problems, I hope they've sorted it out with this model.

Pay a bit extra and choose next day delivery to when it suits you in that case, I have Amazon Prime which guarantees next day delivery, but you pay an annual fee, depends how much you think you will order whether that is a good option

Amazon have changed the wording. theres a thread on MSE about folks no longer getting next day delivery on many prime purchases

No you didn't ...(_;)

LG 600HZ Plasmas @42" are only HD Ready and not 1080p
LG 1080p LCD's @42" don't have anywhere near 600hz (although technically it is merely marketing).

So make your mind up.:D

I bought Neet HDMI switch, which has 5 ports... and it auto switches as well... but you also get a little remote... HDMI ports is a non-issue...

btw, it costs 30quids on Amazon, but you could get cheaper ones (3 ports) if thats all you need...

Yeah my Amp has 5x HDMI ports...i don't want that switched on all the time though.

Additionally using one input and a switch means you are limited to using generic picture settings...I have my current Panny Plasma setup with different picture settings for the input's i use with my HTPC, BluRay player, PS3 and Sky.

Like i said a couple more HDMI's would have cost them pennies and just causes hassles for me.....maybe the next deal.

Hah... I used to see Subaru Imprezas parked outside £20,000 houses... not worth getting upset about things you can't change though, I guess =)

Just got mine from Richersounds in Manchester (Deansgate) Came to aboue £516 with the £10 VIP voucher, that includes the 5 year guarantee. So far so good, it is very reflective though, but I already knew that.

you wont really notice it much after a while
I have had the LG 50PK590 for about 10 months now

Yeah I guess it will be ok. I've only managed to play around with it for a few hours, had to drive down south tonight. I'm pretty pleased with the picture... Didn't notice any issues with image retention. 720mkvs looked awesome the SD picture shows its flaws on a screen this size, will have to get SKY HD. I had to play around with the settings to get decent results as the standard settings seemed a bit dull.

BTW before I bought this from Richer Sounds I filled in a price match form at John Lewis, they said they will honour the RS price with 5yr warranty. I still bought from RS as I had it home in 20mins and saved another tenner with the VIP discount.
