Ah shame, if it had iplayer I would snap it up. It doesn't at the moment though.

It doesn't have iplayer yet, I think they are looking to put it in via an update.

That was the case for my sony tv ex403, that didn't have iplayer at launch but the new firmware has now enabled it, in beta form anyway.

Mine arrived Friday and it's a nice tv. Good picture, but need to play about with settings as it was a bit dark on normal settings. Loads of features and it can play MKV files straight from USB drives which is a major plus for me.

How is the reflection? Am guessing its quite bad if the window is directly opposite? That's why I was looking for an lcd tv with a matte finish....

Well I feel the LCDs/LEDs are brighter and the colours warmer, plus I read the sets are longer-lasting too. Guess it's just a personal thing, as the majority of deals here tend to be for Plasmas.

The latest plasma displays are so much better than the old ones. They are much better than LCD's at this size as the speed of the pixel change means motion blur is massively reduced. Also their MTBF is around 100,000 hours compared to LCDs 70,000. I guess LED is better but they are much more expensive.

LED iirc are about 40,000 hours of life in them.

got mine and am well happy with it.
wees all over the LCD I had.
wouldnt ever have a standard LCD again.

but as customers keep telling me
    PLASMA GIVES YOU AIDS!!!!!

you catch it when the TV has to have its gas cannisters refilled.
oh and then they catch fire

11 years of 10 hours/day. Wouldn't be surprised if most sets went belly-up long before then.

Am I right in thinking this TV has wi-fi? Or does it just have a wi-fi port that will take any wi-fi dongle? Or does it have to be an LG wi-fi dongle?

I must admit this is the most tempted I have been by any TV offers. I bought a plasma in 2005 still going strong. But it's only 100hz and no freeview hd and only 1 hdmi slot. So it's time for an upgrade.

wifi capable. lg dongle currently available from Comet.
also has ethernet too. am using commtrend powerline adapters with mine

might save up my birthday money and get this!

It'll be bigger than our main TV that's only 38"!

Also, it's internet enabled so you can get youtube!

This + Virgin Media on Demand + xbox 360 = win!

I was so close to buying this but I think I will wait. This seems like a fantastic telly for the money. But I was a little put off by the lack of sd card slot, the really high cost of the proprietary wifi dongle and some uncertainty surrounding its wall mount potential. Not to mention that I need to shift my old telly, buy a new stand and a new dongle (or powerline plugs). I am wondering what the Christmas sales will bring just before the VAT rise. Will retailers offer some bargains? Who knows.

I have this TV and I love it

The one thing I'd look out for though is if discoloured vertical lines appear when you're watching sport. i.e when the camera is panning left to right at a football match
The first one I had displayed these lines and I returned it. The one I have now does not have these lines.

I believe there is a strong chance that every one of these TVs will display horizontal lines (badly at times). This can happen when credits are rolling or at it's worst when there are window blinds in the picture. The lines can run through people's faces turning yellowish on occasion. Basically if you worry about it you will cringe any time there's a horizontal structure being displayed in the picture. You will check to see how bad the shadow lines are. I did this but I don't now over 3 months later. These incidents are so few and far between but they are still there.

You can check these lines out by watching or Sky+ing the end of "Come Dine With Me" as the screen goes half credits, half picture. The lines come from the credits into the picture. Both of the PK590s I have had displayed these horizontal shadow lines

Again I love the TV I only wish it supported DTS audio

I bought the Hisense HDMI 1080P player for this

Although I'm sure the picture quality is better with my hard drive via the TV's usb

Show me a TV with a SD card slot and the other features you have listed for the same price? I'm also surprised you didn't discount it because it didn't come included with a free 'Moon-on-a-stick' and a night out with Uma Thurman.
