Looks like a remarkably good price, heat added. Lately, Best Buy have also been offering 15% Quidco at the weekend, which would make this even more phenomenal. Gonna go hot, I reckon....
#8
Just bought it! So glad I waited and got this - was about to spend the same on the 50PK350! :D
#9
bought one of these 6 weeks ago.. Brilliant telly. Would recommend it!!!!
#10
So tempted but seen this is the store and it was really reflective, and people are saying even at night they can see themselves in the screen.

But still a good price.
#11
Holy crap this is smokin' hot!

I suggest you also read the review for this over at hdtvtest, this set has quite a high lag factor with gaming so won't be ideal for fast paced games and also has some problems with artificial edge enhancements on HD content. This is a good price but you maybe disappointed with it if you will be using it for gaming or want a clean crisp picture.

Just Ordered!

I am going to leave, I have a bright room and everyone is saying very reflective, I had a plasam and it wasnt as bad as this. was in pc world and seen the sales guy creeping up behind me, so just walked away.. It was a great mirror. LOL

Might have a look at the PX990 after xmas, Maybe some good sales and reviews.

This bug has been fixed in the latest firmware update that added extra features to the netcast side of things :)

Anyone got this working via Quidco? I constantly end up with an order error screen after submitting my cc details :-(
#18
Great telly for the price! HOT

What about Richer Sounds doing a deal to match this and then the 5 year warranty ?

They will only match it with Best Buys 5 year warranty option which is £249! e.g. they won't price match.

You sure?

I bought a 22" Samsung 1080p TV from Richer Sounds no less than 12 days ago and they price matched to Bestbuy online with no problems at all (Liverpool) - a reduction of £20. No warranty was mentioned. The chap has worked there for a while, because he served me 20 months ago for a 40" LCD and the same policy was adopted :)

I'm sick and tired of people complaining about such figures.

1. You do realise 50ms is 1/20 of a second?
2. Console games are not fast paced enough for these figures to matter.

whats to despise about plasma TVs?

better range of colours, better black levels, faster reacting screen for motion. better for movies and sports than LCD or LED.
no viewing angle problems

other than the reflection issue (which only bothers people who really cant seem to focus on the picture onscreen)
I can't see the problem.

LCDs and LEDs are far too oversaturated, backlight bleeding, greyed out blacks, blue-ish blacks on the LEDs (particularly the Samsungs), over sharpened PC-Monitor type images.

LCD better for gaming I suppose, or animation.

plasma's look like proper TVs

Nonsense. I am a big gamer (Bad Company 2, COD), like my bluray movies and am a bit a tech fiend in general and this tv is excellent on all counts. Please refrain from making general statements you may have read on the net. There are reported issues with all plasmas and LCDs, but being such amazing value this tv really represents the lowest risk

Bad experiences with 3 plasma tvs. I'm not denying that the pq is superior.

Playing an online fps game with a ping time of 50ms makes you able to compete with all the other players, double that to 100ms and you're suddenly at a disadvantage. And of course with this lag, it also effects offline play and the game won't be designed to allow for that lag (whereas online everyone has lag).

When do Best Buy take the money from your debit card?? Anybody know because I won't be in the bank until tomorrow.:(

If you read around the net you can see that all the PK series are moving to clearance as the PX series comes in.

I hesitated and missed this, which I may well regret.

Surely lots of similar sets will be coming up cheap in the sales after xmas? I remember seeing a Samsun 1080p 50" for £450 last January. I'd personally hold out a little longer. Still a HOT deal for pre-sales though.
