I'm guessing it's a 50" LG PS3000

The one review of this set is pretty poor:

Spend a little more and get a 1080p set so as to future proof yourself a bit!

£598 delivered plus 4% Quidco = £574 from Bennetts

Not that I would have one, certainly cheap for a 50" panel but really cant see the point not being 1080p. Rather spend £600 on a smaller panel with full res. If you must have a 50" then pay a little extra @ £628 + delivery from Pixmania for the PS3000 and have full 1080p, you should also get 4% Quidco making the panel £602.88 + £20 delivery, so £623 in round figures......its a no brainer!

Good find, just saw it yesterday whilst i was looking at the 42" panasonic i saw on here, thought it was worth a mention......i totally agree with you though, smaller panel with full res

Still cant decide on a plasma or LCD though....

Personally I would sooner pay the extra for a 1080p screen, Blu-ray has been out for years now so people that are buying this screen are buying something that's already at least 2 years out of date technology wise. Plus Plasma uses a lot more electricity than LCD. I'd sooner have a 42" LCD than this. But then LED screens have just came on the scene which use another 50% less energy than LCD.

Look at the facts before buying is my view, most people keep TV's for 10 years or more, some even 20 years. Over that period you have to look at current technology and future technology plus power usage, on the long run you could be paying a considerable amount extra on 'power alone'.
