I would rather they dropped a few hundred quid off the price and let you buy your own glasses at a fraction of the cost.

Glasses have nothing to do with the price. U must be thinking of active glasses that can cost between 50 and 100 pounds each. This is a passive 3d set and the glasses are probably worth a few pounds each only.
I can confirm it doesn't have free view HD. viewing angles are very good.
I tried out a whole load of 3D tvs before deciding on passive and I must say as soon as I tried the LG I knew that if I bought a 3D it would have to be an LG cinema 3D.

Even more overpriced than i thought. I honestly think the tv is not worth more than £700.
I have a Pany Viera 3D and you can get 3D Viera 50" for under £700

Thats plasma
So not really a comparison?

I know, but it wouldnt make that much difference cost wise. I had a Phillips Matchline lcd before i had the Pany and i have to say, the plasma screen is far better.
So not really a comparison?
I would love to hear your reasoning behind this? I have a plasma and an LED and while both pictures are good the I prefer the plasma, the 3D is also alot better.
I was always against plasma for years, all the talk of regassing etc but i am now a convert.
Plus, its not a Smart tv.

Plus, its not a Smart tv.
I got the 47" version of this from Comet last October for £670, it also has no SmartTV functions and only Freeview.
The thing is if you have a 3D capable Bluray player, chances are that the player has smart functions built in like iPlayer etc. I have mine hooked up to my PS3 so all my smart functions are in that and more. Boot up the PS3 browser and then run flash streaming sites through it with no issues.
Great TV and well worth it at that price.
