Just bought, went through paypal rather than debit card, should give me a bit more protection if this goes south. Lush set for the price.

    Cheers OP!

    Just purchased one thanks OP.
Looks a good TV, good size & LED @ this price!

Great price but I don't think it has Freeview HD even though the site has the Freeview HD badge under the main pic ... Amazon backs up 'no' FVHD

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-55LW450U-55-inch-Widescreen-Freeview/dp/B004ZC3K38/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1332709823&sr=1-1
Look at the specs further down the page.

Also not a Smart tv but great price was so tempted.

I think you need the LW550 + to get Freeview HD.

Thats a hooge ammount of money for that tv.

I would rather they dropped a few hundred quid off the price and let you buy your own glasses at a fraction of the cost.

Glasses have nothing to do with the price. U must be thinking of active glasses that can cost between 50 and 100 pounds each. This is a passive 3d set and the glasses are probably worth a few pounds each only.

It's a great tv. I picked one up at Christmas from amazon when it was £699- think it was around about the time of black Friday.

I can confirm it doesn't have free view HD. viewing angles are very good.

I tried out a whole load of 3D tvs before deciding on passive and I must say as soon as I tried the LG I knew that if I bought a 3D it would have to be an LG cinema 3D.

Even more overpriced than i thought. I honestly think the tv is not worth more than £700.
I have a Pany Viera 3D and you can get 3D Viera 50" for under £700

LED is a step up from plasma though surely?

    So not really a comparison?

I know, but it wouldnt make that much difference cost wise. I had a Phillips Matchline lcd before i had the Pany and i have to say, the plasma screen is far better.

I would love to hear your reasoning behind this? I have a plasma and an LED and while both pictures are good the I prefer the plasma, the 3D is also alot better.

Technology has stepped up over the last few years, look at the Neo Plasma!

I was always against plasma for years, all the talk of regassing etc but i am now a convert.

I dont know if everyone realises that you still need a 3D Blu-ray player to be able to watch 3D.

Plus, its not a Smart tv.

We have the 47LW550T, smaller and with Freeview and the 3D is amazing..and no eye strain as with the active glasses...cracking price

I got the 47" version of this from Comet last October for £670, it also has no SmartTV functions and only Freeview.

The thing is if you have a 3D capable Bluray player, chances are that the player has smart functions built in like iPlayer etc. I have mine hooked up to my PS3 so all my smart functions are in that and more. Boot up the PS3 browser and then run flash streaming sites through it with no issues.

Great TV and well worth it at that price.
