Great TV, slowly creeping down in price !

Really keen to pick up an Oled 4K set this year. Anyone with a crystal ball able to predict if we'll see any further price drops in the next couple of months?

Wait another year Liam lad... There's no real 4K content yet anyway! Patience will DEFINITELY pay off on this one :) 8k is coming so you know where this going..

Went to Currys lately, and the LG rep mentioned that this model is being discontinued, so potentially new models coming out and the likes of the B6 model dropping in price soon

Amazon Video and Netflix both have 4k content if you have these services.

I kind of need something before Xmas so will have to bite the bullet before then. Just trying to work out if it's worth picking something up now for around the £1200 mark (which would most likely be 1080p rather than 4K) or waiting for some price drops in November.

is this 2015 or 2016 OLED tech?

2015. New models are out and glorious, and the 55" is already ~£2300 so worth saving a bit longer an buying the superior new panels.

Not enough to warrant this purchase in my opinion.. Wait a year and not only will this to be half the price and there will be plenty of things to watch on it! That's what I'm doing anyway :)

New 2016 panel has HDR this doesn't - bite when £1,000 which is mid next year when there is more 4K choice and you won't have buyers remorse after watching most stuff in 720p on sky or 1080i
#14
Purchased this today, very happy with it and can confirm it has HDR

5 Year warrantee..... haha, you'll be returning it for a refund in 3 days

Yes but he was enjoying OLED long before you!

I've heard lots of tech reviews saying that there is a huge difference between HDR and non-HDR vs 1080p and 4k.... with HDR being the most impressive jump between the two.... so I'll be holding on to my cash to play the long game until HDR is affordable and mainstream. this is still a gorgeous picture for a TV though = heat added

Haven't you got any friends to wind up? Or is this how you spend your time, just trying to bring people down who give some information

I agree.....these will likely come down in price and Black Friday will be a good time to buy with lots of promotions going on. I'd wait it out for a few months if you can.

does anybody know if any of UK retailers do any trade in deals? I remember last year they used to pay £300 for an old tv..

So, a week or so later, was it worth it? Interested myself (I know where one is available) but unsure whether I'm prepared to pay hundreds extra over some of the sub-1K LCD deals you see on here for OLED perfect blacks which I probably wouldn't notice.
#31
I have just bought one of these sets believe me you will notice the difference in the blacks in the oled tv simply awesome when watching HD and 4k mind blowing

Has this been discontinued now?
