This seems to be a good buy but I am not that certain having watched carefully the various offers posted on this HUKD site. Because it is OLED, does it mean I do not need to concern myself with HDR? Read More

I don't think it's 4k so Hdr isn't a factor.

Crazy price for a regular 1080P TV. You can get a perfectly good 4K 55" for literally a fraction of that crazy price e.g. http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/digihome-55inch-4k-ultra-hd-led-tv-smart-wifi-freeview-hd-4x-hdmi-349-98-delivered-2499747

Utterly freezing, mad to pay such a sum for 1080P when 4K is becoming so affordable...

For some reason, 4K still seems to be the public's method of gauging quality of a picture. It demonstrates a lack of understanding on why high quality 1080p sets (such as this) offer great value.

The current generation (2016) OLED TVs are the best way to view SDR images (i.e. the majority of content available). This is a view shared by AVforums (fantastic resource for AV news). Older generation OLED still trumps non-OLED 4K TVs when viewing HD content (certainly at this price range). Once you get your TV professionally calibrated, then you'll have a fantastic set.

I would never buy a 4K TV now unless it was FALD/OLED and supported HDR-10/UHD certified (think I can take or leave Dolby Vision). The sets in mind cost in the region of £2200 right through to £5000 (depending on size / model). In some cases even higher. Significantly more than this.

Non HDR 4K TVs are a waste of money. I'd either go with the best way of watching SDR content (i.e. an OLED) or go the whole hog and get a flagship HDR/UHD certified set.

Looking at strictly the resolution element, I have physically seen a 4K and 1080p source side-by-side and under real world living room conditions, I couldn't tell the difference. The differences were only noticeable when I sat too close.

Given a budget of circa £1200, this is a cracking TV to get.

I'd say it's ignorant to assume you have to spend over a grand on a FHD TV to enjoy decent picture quality. It may be a very good set if money were no object, but unfortunately for many of us, it is very much so, hence the very existence of sites like HUKD...
