American company? They are based in Jersey. Did you think it meant New Jersey?

To be fair you do take a risk with Play when buying electronics, they are based in Jersey and will try to wiggle out of the UK consumer rights and do often supply US/Canadian items instead of UK sourced ones so your comeback under UK warranty with a manufacturer could be limited. If you search about on the web you will find people have had serious problems with Play actually taking responsibility for electrical goods and juist telling the buyer to contact the manufacturer direct to srt any issues out even within the warranty period.

I would certainly never spend more than £100 on any item with them just in case!
