This was voted cold yesterday so obviously not everyones cup of tea but if like me you have quite a big lounge this is a good deal for a 60inch tv.
Next best price I can find is £1675 but they have not got them in stock,Comet delivering mine next week. Most places about £1900.
Worth pointing out this is the new model fro LG with Freeview HD built in,amazing how many people think old freeview is high def, including my mum!lol
This will prob go ice ice baby but might help someone.

OMG, that's almost as wide as my living room!!! LOL

Seriously though, you've got to have a big room to appreciate a TV of that size. I can't imagine watching that in a 2 up and 2 down terrace house.

As your posting of this TV yesterday is still current, you could have altered yesterdays?

Not if your using HD sources for most viewing. Perfectly fine for viewing HD from 10-12' away. SD (freeview/sky/dvd/wii etc) will look shoddy from that distance though.

optimum viewing distance is about 7-8 feet so you must have a very small lounge! :w00t:

My 42 inch was too big for a 2 up and 2 down. I moved to a larger house and now the 42 inch is too small.

Hmm, this TV gets good reviews and all in all it's probably better than Samsung's offerings; but I can't help but feel like I should wait for the next generation of Panasonics to see how they've integrated the Pioneer tech and if they've mitigated/eliminated the rising black level issues.

I've already got an older 46" Panasonic plasma and, while it's showing its age, I think I'd be better off waiting for a great TV, rather than unnecessarily buying a good one.

Also Comet is part of the infamous DSGI group :/

This is 60" screen that will give your "older 46" Panasonic plasma" a really good kicking!

I completely agree. I've read multiple reviews of this television regarding colour accuracy and black levels and I think its the best priced plasma I've ever seen. At the same time, since I'm a huge nitpicker, I'd probably rather try to find a Pioneer Kuro 9G if I really wanted to buy a TV this year. Or buy a cheap 50PK760 from Pixmania. Even though its a gray import, I won't ever use Freeview HD or any UK-centric features :). Concerning the image processing which negatively effects the 700 and 900 series, I'd only use it in HDMI 60hz PC mode, so it's not an issue. I'm sure if you buy this TV, you'll love it. I probably would too, but I'd rather wait for a 'reference' set to come out.

I know Pixmania is part of the DSGI group too (I may be wrong again haha), but it's a huge saving compared to the UK 50PK790.

D'oh, that's Currys. Sorry, I'm really forgetful at times :)

It has a pixel resolution of 1040x768 according to Comet, so 720 and 1080p will be scaled accordingly. May not be noticeable.

Must you find every TV deal on here and post your "LED is better" type comments? Yes, we got it the first half dozen times.
You should be voting on a deal on its own merits. You clearly only like LED TVs so there isn't any need to keep visiting these none LED threads.

It maybe cheaper then other places but it's old tech.
3D is becoming more standardised so is it pointless paying this much for one that doesnt support it.

Comet info is frequently wrong.
LG specs page says res is 1920x1080, so full HD :) .

I got the LG PK250 60" plasma for around this price a few months back -
Fantastic TV with a tremendous HD picture.

Standard settings out the box are excellent, but the THX setting for movies is brilliant.

Voted hot.

I'm not against 3D but not many people know that there are 4 types of 3D technology trying to get you to spend your hard earned wonga.
1, Polarised 3D Glasses (SkyHD& Philips)
2, Active Glasses (Sony & Panasonic)
3, Parallax (sharp)
4, Lenticular Lenses (LG)
Its a bit early for me to buy 3D, I think I will wait for the dust to settle. Also if you buy one what is there out there to watch in 3D that is available now? (I can remember buying a state of the art tv with nicam stereo on it in the 90's,I never got nicam on it,by the time it was in the area the tv broke!!! lol)
I just want a big tv for films and the world cup so,

COME ON ENGLAND !!!!!!!

If you can get a 60" 3D HD TV of any mainstream brand at this price in the next 12 months, you should buy as many as you can, because it will be the deal of the century.

It's clear Peggy likes LED TVs but since there are no such things in the marketplace where is she getting her LED TV from?
