Great price for a 60" plasma!! ...same panel as the new lg 60pk590 which has been getting great reviews on cnet/avforums etc. just missing the bells and whistles (extra hdmi sockets+freeview hd+thx+usb playback).

Note: Just realised it says "This product will be arriving soon"...hopefully not too long as a 60" panel under £1000 is a bargain...next cheapest I can find is at dixons with 5% off code (TV899) for £1139.05

By paring down to just the basics, LG have produced a fantastic value TV with all of the quality if few of the frills. Thanks to its 600Hz sub-field driving technology, the 60PK250 can rightly claim to have class-leading motion. This technology gives the 60PK250 a superb response with incredible realism and super-sharp tracking on fast moving motion such as sports events. With technologies such as the latest version of LG's highly acclaimed Dual XD Engine and an Intelligent Light Sensor, the 60PK250 offers up excellent levels of brightness, colour purity and contrast. The figures showing an astonishing dynamic contrast ratio of 3,000,000:1 and brightness of 1500cdm say a great deal, but the proof of the LG's superior picture quality is in the watching; amazing clarity for a screen of this size at this price!

As we've always said, a separate home cinema system is what's needed to really bring a quality TV such as this to life. Having said that, the onboard audio makes a good effort. The Clear Voice II system makes dialogue easy to follow. Combined with the Invisible speaker system, you'll find it gives the LG 60PK250 a smooth, spacious sound that's less boxy-sounding than many TVs. Finally, if you're planning to use this plasma TV as part of your home cinema system, then you'll be pleased to find there's still an optical digital output - perfect for the highest quality audio connection to your AV receiver.

In terms of connections, the 60PK250 has just the basics and no more. That said, if you're using your AV receiver for video switching, then this shouldn't worry you. Twin HMDI sockets are matched by two SCART connections and component. Don't expect a USB (other than for service), Internet connection or PC Input - the money's gone into the screen instead!

It might be basic but this hasn't compromised the style. With a depth of just 55.3mm, the 60PK250 is still one of the slimmest plasma TVs to date. That and the smart "razor" frame make for a TV that hides its bulk well.

Big, beautiful and a bargain - the LG 60PK250 is hard to resist!

WTF are you on about???

Electricity is created from other energy sources, it doesnt just appear from the magical plastic socket on your wall.

Less energy used = less created, which is good as most electricity is not generated using 'green' methods.
