Or if like me save yourself £18959 by buying an ex school projector for £40 beam onto a big white wall and get a 110 " screen

4K projector?

Hmm. Dunno. Should I get this or spend the extra 40k on the 100" Sony? Those 2" could make all the difference.

just dumb dumb dumb! That's like this post being about a brand new top of the range Tesla and you saying "ever heard of a Datsun".
If you took the time to think before trying to sound so clever you would see that it costs approx £5500 to get on the first step of the 4K projector ladder.

I stand by my original posting. The price tag of £19k is the only dumb bit here. Give it 2-5 years, everything will be 4K. Money is precious. People usually exchange a portion of their very life to amass some of it. If you have £19k, why not give some of the money to charity? My brand perception of LG is that it isn't top of the range. £19k is most definitely a top of the range price tag.

While I wholeheartedly agree with a lot of what you just said, i'm sorry but your original post was very basic and was comparing two products which are worlds apart as alternative choices to each other. One is a silly priced, niche, luxury item the other is a VERY bog standard, cheap as chips item that you can probably pickup from Tesco. A £350 (FullHD) projector should never be compared to a huge 4K screen (TV or Proj).
The best and smartest alternative to this (if you want 4K at this size) is a 4K projector which at £5500-8000 looks like somewhat of a good deal if you can afford it. This is what I would choose.
Everything will be cheaper in 2-5 years so that's neither here or there. This is about right now and what this kind of tech costs today. As far as what people consider reasonable to spend I feel is all relative. A person buying a £300,000 Bentley, a £30,000 watch, a £20,000 TV . There are plenty rich people who buy these things day in day out. Some of these lucky people will give generously to charity some won't give a toss. I have pretty expensive taste even though I'm an average joe, If I won the lotto I'd spend millions on cars and an easy £50-100K on building my own home theatre BUT I would 100% do my good bit for charity as I simply wouldn't be able to sleep at night.
Anyway, not meaning to argue, just putting my point across as it annoys the hell out of me when people post things that make no sense so had to call it out. Cheers.
