Hi Ommid,
I dont know enough about this bluray player to comment, but it seems some people are getting MKV files to play on this.

Checkout AV Forums for more discussion on this:
http://www.avforums.com/forums/blu-ray-players/1143959-lg-blu-ray-player-how-do-i-play-mkv-files-2.html

Thanks.

with DivX playback does that mean its likely to play any films i download? I have a philips DVD player t the moment which works with whatever i throw at it, will this work as a replacement?

Can anyone elaborate more on BD Live support, surround sound capabilities please? Sounds like a flexible enough player though for the price.
#8
is there a 4GB Limit with the MKV files?

is there a 4GB Limit with the MKV files?

only if you format the USB as a FAT32

please note this is a profile 1.1. player and does not offer BD-Live i.e. does not allow downloads via internet. BD Profile 2.0 usually offers at least 1GB storage for downloading internet content.

This is a good price for a profile 1.1 player.

Can this player play back 1080p res mkv? I hear it can read NTFS partitions though it isn't documented. I suppose the likes of ext3 or xfs are too much to hope for :'(

Cheers if anybody who has tried similar stuff can comment.

Can I hook my suround sound speakers on 2 this???

Not got a clue about systems and stuff
#13
richer sounds always have these

this is excellent value i paid £99 last month and well happy, the use of the USB means now i can just copy all the divx and .avi files right over and watch without burning any dvds, the sound and picture are excellent, it quick loads and is so simple to set up, why pay so much for a blu ray just to download stuff???

remember people, pcword/comet/currys do 110% pricematch, they are charging £119.99 so £30 more, so you can get it for £86.99 from there if you get them to do a pricematch. Argos aren't allowing delivery so you will have to get them to pricematch their stores, comet only allow stores within 10miles, the others within 30 miles i THINK.

my currys, comet and pcworld are all together just 10 mins cycle from me, whereas argos is about 20mins cycle away, so nearer and £3 cheaper:)

Also available at Richer Sounds for the same price. For a tenner more you can get their 5 year supercare warranty. Only available instore though so might be worth giving your local store a call before going down.

Guys, risking being shot down in flames, this will NOT playback recent mkv files (ie anything on the torrent sites from Inglorious Basterds onwards.
I bought one thinking the rumours were just nonsense - even updated to the latest firmware and the dreaded blockies on playback are everywhere. Went and got the BD360 - same problem, despite the same mp4 file (converted from original mkv) playing ok on my xbox 360.
The LG BD370 forum details the problem in great length - this applies to ALL the LG 350, 360 and 370 players :

http://www.avforums.com/forums/blu-ray-players/1017348-lg-bd370-owners-thread-35.html

Read the post by Clarkeymc.

As I say, great player, but do NOT expect new mkv files to play ok

From a disappointed ex owner.......

Anyone have an issue with these overheating? Mine has it's own shelf in a tv unit with an open front and back and 5" clearance above, but it gets so hot after watching a movie that I can burn my hand on the metal underside. The top get extremely hot also. Manual states it shouldn't be put in an enclosed space like a book case(?), which is little different from a TV unit, so that doesn't give many options for storing the thing.
