Ok yes this will probably be store specific but it's a bargain! LG BD350 for under 50 quid, what more is there to say? They had plenty in stock too. Most look like they have been returned and then re-packaged but will come with a 12 month warranty with Currys. Was £139.99 now £99.99 @ Argos, just to compare.

They are stingy gits in Currys Manchester clearance, these were £34.97 in the Merry Hill clearance recently! (see here). Its still not a bad price though.

"Bought one just before christmas and it lasted about 40 mins before losing picture. Returned it and got the same again thinking I can't get another duff one - this one lasted about ten minutes longer. Ended up getting a panasonic BD60, a bit more expensive but it does work well."

Only an idiot would use torrents, obviuosly you're not an idiot as you don't use them.

Good price., although this price seems to be popping up quite a lot now so it will soon become the norm.

I use torrents and am happy to admit, I also have a blu-ray collection with 400 blu-rays in it.... so am contributing to the industry.... If they released TV programs in the UK at the same time as the US I would have no use for torrents but until that day I will happily download them for free.... (oh and UFC)

LOL why would only an idiot use torrents?

And you realise torrents can be used for updates and various legal things? :p

I would highly recommend one of these.

I own one and a PS3 and the picture quality from the BD350 is SIGNIFICANTLY better than that of the PS3 playing blurays - particularly as the PS3 bluray playback seems to jerk in places for me whilst it is completely smooth playing through 24FPS mode on the BD350.

Look at the date on the boxes - if it's earlier than November 2009 these also have the firmware on that allow multi region (A/B/C) playback.

Because newsgroups are much better.

I'm quite aware you can download legal stuff via torrents and newsgroups.
#11
newsgroups better? How?

With torrents it would be possible for me to download as fast as my internet connection goes with perfect quality everytime without fail, if per chance I did decide to torrent. :)
#12
Max Speed on a Torrent = No VPN? unless you have a slow connection,

3-5 months time asking for trouble imho
#13
newsgroups because they are over an encrypted network not open traffic which should help solve some problems from the Digital Economy Act!
#14
Use encrypted trackers :) And with fast internet connections, there's not much benefit over a newsgroup...
#15
Torrents and newsgroups are both lame :-P Good deal here though.
#16
Great price, for a very good player. I have a BD370 and it's great.
#17
I bought 9 of these at the merry hill clearance store. 8 of them cost £19.99 and the other cost £34.97. 2 of them came with remotes. My friends and family were very pleased!

Usually yes - Newsgroups limit on bandwidth and to get unlimited you usually have to pay etc...

Only if you pick the right torrent with good ratio. Which then limits your choice.

You have to rely on other people and the quality of the rips are nowhere near as good, dont see many HD Images on torrents.

The best around.

Can get it for £5 a month for unlimited speed (as fast as your broadband connection will allow), and no limit to usage.

You pay peanuts for what you get and much better than Torrents

Really? All the great movies in 1080p have seeders allowing for a full max speed download usually on a fiber optic 20mb connection (said a friend of mine :D)

does this play mkvs?

I have this and it does play MKVs perfect off my 500gb usb powered HD. Although it depends on which manufactured date one you get. Mine is marked Dec 2009.

I love this store. Recently went to the one in merry hill. I got a blue ray player from there for £25. Not an lg one though

Hi guys, this is my first comment so I apologise if I do anything wrong.

I've been looking for a Blu Ray player for a while and wanted to know if this one is worth it? I know it's a great price and stuff but I have no idea what is and isn't good spec in terms of Blu Ray Players.

Any help would be appreciated!
