"Budget" BluRay player

With this LG BD350 Blu-ray you can enjoy the wonderful high-definition picture, packed full of detail, when watching your favourite movies. The uncompressed sound quality is another benefit available from this LG Blu-ray player. As with other Blu-ray players, the LG BD350 will playback your existing DVDs to a very high standard and provided you have a suitable TV, it can upscale them to 1080p, for even greater levels of clarity.

Where the LG BD350 Blu-ray player scores over some of its rivals is in being able to playback DivX discs. It also includes technology such as Dolby Digital Plus, DTS HD and Dolby True HD. A fast loading time of just 18 seconds takes the frustration out of watching films.

Having already won many design awards for their TVs and mobile phones, it comes as little surprise to find that the BD350 is something of a looker. The BD350 has a design sophistication that reflects the technology within.

Sony is guaranteed not to be multiregion, so no thanks.

Blimey, you just go in ask for the product, decline the extended waranty, pay and leave. how hard is that?

I didn't think this LG was region free either. Its easy to hack the Sony BD360 with an One For All remote. But to hack this LG to region free you have to download a file and burn it to a disc..... and some have had problems doing it.

A BD350 from Argos won't be Muiltiregion either so I don't see your point

I know some LG are so on the assumption they do it for one model I assume they do it for all. I'm very surprised if a Sony model does as they built blu-ray with a mind to not let it be region free.

One was posted a few weeks back (no idea on model) that someone claimed was multiregion (fairly sure I looked up the hack to be sure in case I need a replacement in the future). I wouldn't consider a player that was not, for dvd and blu.

Someone just claiming on here its region free does not make it fact.
The Sony is a piece of p*** to hack to DVD region free.... this LG is more complicated. There is no hacks to my knowledge to make any Bluray player Bluray region free.

Dont know this player but if its Bluray region free then i assume it came already region free and you never had to hack it.
Or do you mean its just DVD region free.

RS - Just go in, ask for product, they say not in stock can we interest you with this alternative, say no, get the train/bus/car home and a wasted journey

Argos - check if it is in stock within travel distance. If in stoick reserve, go in, pay, pick up , come hiome. If not, stay in house

There is a difference

Sony's lasers are the worst. Better off with LG or Panasonic.

A several digit code sets the 3 regions for bluray, all of these codes defaults DVD to multiregion too. It's region free for both was pretty much the same price as this LG and looks and sounds stunning as it should.

I wasn't aware of this Curtis model..... but this LG is definitely not as easy to make region free by just entering some code numbers.

Never had that myself unless they've sold out. I've bought many products from Richer Sounds, very easy to deal with.
#32
Do yourself a favour and buy the Sony player at amazon or play it's a better machine than this one for the sake if a little extra money
#33
Does this player support DLNA ?

If you are interested, the rebranded Tevion 1100uk also supports BD live in addition to also being multiregion. They were posted here many times and are sold in Aldi, for varied prices under 100 quid but are hard to find. Here, http://hcc.techradar.com/reviews/new_reviews/exclusive+hands+budget+aldi+blu+ray+player+tevion+dvd1100+uks+best+bd+buy+15+06+

As for LG I can forget about it, and as for the Sony, as I say If you can't play any region Blu as well as DVD I won't look at it.

Side note. Hope everyone had a good Christmas and thanks HUKD for the pressie.

I just watched Transformers 2 on it and it was stunning. The player, not the film. That plot had more holes in it than Johnny Depp's love life.
