Why wouldn't you just buy a PS3?

Because this can stream media wirelessly from a PC, has 7.1 audio, gets firmware updates through Wi-Fi AND has built-in memory for BD-Live features.

Wait....

I've got the model before this one which is the same but without wi-fi and it really is a fantastic machine.
Youtube has come in handy and runs perfectly.

good point or even a 360 if you only wanna stream hd content (assuming the 360 streams wmv-hd)

Yes it does stream Mkv's, i have found that 720 stream perfectly on wireless but 1080's can be choppy.

Have this player myself.

I have this also and have to admit it's awesome.

You will need to format your memory stick to NTFS in order to play files over 4GB but that's simples. Don't think any other player under £200 can handle that format at the minute?

I got the model below (BD370) for £77.99 in Comet last week.

thats good,as most devices only support fat or fat32 but have the limit of 4gb files issue, you can convert mkv files to avchd to play in a blue ray player or ps3 using mkv2vob either burn to dual layer disc or usb card, you just need to select a certain format something like udf 2.50 think its called. although streaming mkv's would be a whole lot better, i also read last week that the samsung lcd series 5 550 model you play mkv's through the usb dongle, i think it could stream mkv's too but not 100% sure although it needed turning on on the engineers menu and some of the latest ones have had the feature disabled

The player gets a great 5 star review here

My understanding is this has been, or will be discontinued very soon as two newer models coming out LGBD570 and LGBD590 (main difference from 390 inbuilt 250gb harddrive) but based on difficulty of obtaining 390 model if you find one get it, as the 590 is being aimed at the US market first so won't be seen here for a few months yet and you can pick up a 250gb portable hdd for under £30 now and the price difference will be more than that.

Sendit have got this back under £200 now also, whatever the PS3 fanboys say, this machine is worth every penny sounds great thru 5.1 or 7.1 analog sound and streaming is easy enough, but even easier just to use a portable hdd imho
