heat added, if I had some spare cash right now I would buy one.

3% quidco too!
#6
Awesome!

It was only 27 days ago I posted this here because it was the first blu ray burner I'd seen sub-£100 and it went to over 500 degrees, so to be another £21 cheaper already is incredible.

Heat added.

got a bluray reader in my laptop but cant get it to play bluray discs??/

have you got powerdvd or similar installed?
#9
i will try and get it, is it free?
#10
Weird if I use quidco the price shows £84.99, but through the link in here it shows £78.95.

Has anybody used CCL before?
suspended#11
no, there's no software bluray players available that are free. There's Powerdvd, Windvd and Total Media Theatre that can play blurays.

@asandino, you're right quidco brings up the higher price :(

£78.95 / £84.99 whatever the price is it still the cheapest ever blu-ray writer i have ever seen.
#13
Same issue here with quidco being more expensive.

What writing software are people using with this? Seem to recall slysoft anydvd recommended, but seems quite pricey...
#14
Anyone know the cheapest place to buy an enclosure that can plug into my e-sata port on my laptop
#15
cheap - but maybe wait another 27days and see what happens!!!!! ;-)
#16
Does it come with any software? Wondering whether to buy this one or Amazons at £84.99 Inc software.
#17
Same here. Thinking that for ease of ordering and fact you get the software, Amazon is the way to go...

Anydvd is for ripping dvd/blurays not for writing. You can use ashampoo/nero/imgburn etc if you want to burn data or video to a bluray.

p.s i'm sure CCLonline also with come with software, can't see them not doing it. You should email them and get them to check.

you watch these get cheaper and cheaper now the ps3 has been cracked they will be pretty useless anyway seeing as all you need is either a external hard drive or better still get an internal drive..same goes for 2.5 drives these will get serious price drops over the next few weeks..

Good point. I'm waiting for a 250Gb 2.5 HDD to drop below £25. Then the PS3 will get a little upgrade from the 40Gb it has now :)

What's the price of blank blu ray media discs nowadays? It used to be the case that they were far too expensive to buy. Are they coming down in price too?
#22
I remember buying a DVD writer when I thought the prices had bottomed at £200. I'll wait a while longer.

cheapest you can get is 10pcs of Infiniti BD-R 4x for £11 delivered. Dual layer 50GB discs are a FORTUNE though and most movies are over 25gb:(
#24
What software do you use to write the BD-RE?

I've always been happy with CDBurnerXP but wasn't sure if it would be updated for this yet. The feature list on the site says BD but doesn't specify BD-RE...

Last time I checked they had 10 in stock, but today they have 14 uhmmm ?? :-?

I wonder how big the average Blu-Ray movie is, I mean without the extras etc. Hopefully most will fit on the single layer discs... as you point out the dual layer discs are like a tenner each!

you can get 25gb Re-Writables for about £12 delivered now too. So it doesnt hurt so much if you mess one up.
