I know this is area specific but its a great deal if you can get one. Brand new (not seconds or returns, just end of line) with 12 months guarantee, these were piled up (but going fast) just inside the store near the checkout. They also had a big pile that were boxed but remotes were missing for £19.99.

Currys Electrical clearance store is next to the new Currys/PC World superstore at Merry Hill. I was only after a replacement dvd player for my daughters bedroom but this was too good to turn down.

Blu-ray player

* DVD region 2.

* PAL progressive.

* Upscales to 1080p.

* DVD, Blu-ray, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, BD-R/RE, DivX and JPEG.

* Dolby.

* 1 HDMI port.

Great deal if you get luck with a store with one in :)
#3
How many left when you were there mate? If I went tomorrow morning would I be able to pick one up you think??

Very HOT deal, great find!

OMG Was in Merry Hill and didnt go in...Wish I did!

Be careful with this place, there is a reason why everything is dirt cheap.

My Samsung 42 plasma had pressure marks on the screen and my Philips Blu ray player wouldn't play most dvds. Both went back instantly.

They had a massive pile early this morning (around 10.30ish) and after I had walked around the shops and decided I fancied one (around 3ish) I'd say the pile had gone down to about 15-20. As mentioned in the OP there was a bigger pile of BD350's without remotes next to them for £19.99 and there were still plenty of those left. Ring up to check stock if you can find the number or get down there early tomorrow. I believe these can be made region free for DVD and in some cases (depending on firmware) region free for Blu-ray too (see AVforums, lots of stuff on there).

If I got a dirt cheap samsung plasma, I'd try to get it fixed by the manufacturer, better than missing out altogether..
#8
They have a Currys Clearance near me. Tempting.
#9
Thanks professor yaffle, I live about 40 minutes away so I am going to try and get there for when they open tomorrow morning!

No problem, I hope you get one. I wouldn't normally post something like this but they had so many this morning I thought it was worth it. They opened the box at the till to check the contents and its all sealed in bags, complete with battery for remote and a carboard stand that they put on top of the players on display in the shops to show the features of the player! I've since looked at the player and its pristine (manufactured Nov 2009) but for some reason it went through the till at £49.97 with £15 discount for being 'non-pristine'. They are sold as end of line though with full 12 months warranty. I just hope it works!

I saw that too and thought the worst, but if you look elsewhere it gets really good reviews. Some examples:

Reevoo
Testfreaks
Argos

With regards to the deal - heated for sure. Good find op!

On a separate matter I think we need a new thread just to discuss LOUGHBORO GUY's increasingly provocative avatars! :P

Thanks for that, you can't argue for the price, shame it's so far away from me.

It's only there because it's where PC World used to be and DSG still have a lease for a few months so it gets most of the clearance for the midlands.After this period it may shut down

I know a lot of the staff there, Selina or Mike are the best people to ask if you want to try to reserve stock (if theres any left)

The store number is 01384 418481, should be the same number it was 6 months ago anyway

Fantastic buy btw

None left in that store...

There was 25 on Merry Hills stock list at about 3pm today. The rest is dotted around the country - none in the Bristol or South West tho as I got the chap to check UNLESS you are lucky and they haven't accounted for it.

I got the previous BD370 deal from PCWorld. Remote was faulty. Rang LG support, and they asked me to email them the reciept and details, and they just sent me a brand new one under warranty. Fab service!
#37
Any left?
#38
Good luck finding these now. I bet after first day on sale at this price, the staff at the stores nabbed them.
