LG Blu Ray player BD360 £60.00 @ Asda

Local Asda today (Pudsey (West Leeds)) had LG BD360 Blu Ray players for £60.
Looked a very good deal to me they also had Samsungs for same price I think the model was BDP1200? I've looking out for one for a while and although I don't have the money just now (made rendundant) I just looked & typical they had a deal.
Anyway hope it helps someone else. I know they aren't the latest models but they are a lot cheaper!

My local Asda's electrical section in Sutton is appauling. They mainy stock their Asda electrical products and customers are deprived of such great deals.

Heat added.
#2
Yes I know the stores vary a lot with what they stock. Ours is pretty big (2 floors).
#3
I know what you mean.

When I used to live in Bham, the Asda Electronics section was like a store on its own.

Richer sounds is selling this for nearly double the price @ 119.95

I really want to get this player at that price for quite awhile

Have some heat and rep my friend, this is a cracking deal for a brand name blu-ray. I've just brought the LG 42PJ550 deal that was posted earlier last week from Currys, and have got that being delivered tomorrow, this will make an excellent choice for the TV and a second set I've got upstairs. We too have the same problems with Asda, the nearest one is rubbish for electricals, and sell mainly own brand stuff or bargain basement names that aren't as popular nowadays as they was, looks like I'll have to take a trek further afield.

p.s sorry to hear about your redundancy woes...

thanks, the big Asdas generally have a good selection of TV's DVD & Blu ray, Samsung, LG, Sony ,Sharp etc all usually available!

Hot for me but phoned every Asda in Liverpool and none in any
#14
Just been to my local store in Mansfield(Forest Town) and they have around 6 left in store.
#15
wish i'd not just spent everything on that new tv now, no pennies left to get one of these!

I just bought the LG HT306SU from PC World today for £60, Nice looking speakers, but the DVD players does not have a optical connection. I notice this has optical output. Will it therefore somehow provide digital sound from my virgin HD box? Also the model i purchased plays directly from USB, I guess this would also do the same?
#17
Loads at Longwell Green, Bristol.
#18
None at my crappy, local, good for nothing, low quality Asda store in Sutton.

If you notice in the quote that I put , the product was found for £60 in Bilton Hull . The link was just the source where the quote was found.

caution, these get extremely, ie burn your hand, hot. Returned one already as it was cooking my tv unit, nearby Virgin box (and burnt my hand when I touched it), second one the same. Case way too small so no airflow. Instruction say do not use in bookcase(!), I take it that's their cryptic way of saying don't use in any reasonably confined space like a tv cabinet. Certainly DON'T stack it with other equipment.
Also (though I haven't checked again very recently) update on web doesn't work, LG said thy would post me one, never arrived. Why they couldn't just fix the online one, no sure, maybe have now

Thanks for the infor. But I read so many reviews on this product and the BD370 and no one has had this issue before.
#22
Loads at Cribbs Causway, it was the BD370 for £60 there
#23
6 left at Boldon Asda.... BD370 though which i can only imagine been next one up from BD360.
#24
I think these might be on offer because the LG BD560 and BD570 have recently been released in the past four or five months and are starting to price drop these older models...

Just sold all my old cds on musicmagpie (barcode reader a must!) so raised cash to to buy. Really lucky as there was just the one LG left (it was the 370 my mistake!)
bargain, but struggling with the software update that it needs for youtube? It downloads ok then select install and it seems to do nothing, I left it about 20min then turned it off!
Any ideas?

A few people I know bought them also and didn't realise they had an issue until I got them to check and they touched them whilst in use. I only realised because I could smell the tv cabinet cooking. Blurays get hot, but the narrow case on these makes it more of a problem. Plus like I said, even the instructions state do not use in a bookcase(!) - I take that as meaning any confined space.

Online update doesn't work, hasn't since last xmas. LG know it and promised to send me a working copy by post, but never arrived.
#28
online update worked for me today and at initial purcahse 1 month ago on bd370,

downgraded firmware, (offline) today to facilitate the multi region hack, which was successfully applied, then updated online to latest firmware without any problems, and multi region hack was not affected

mine is connected permanently by ethernet cable, and no problems accessing youtube either, details on how to change region code on following link, mods please remove link if not allowed

Many thanks for that. I probably have to wait now for the later and improved models to go down in price.

Online update eventualy worked about 5th time of trying ? :)
#31
I went to 2 large Asdas yesterday and their electricals dept. was a shame. My search for the low priced LG Blu ray player continues
#32
great player if you can find one, you tube is brill for the kids
#33
Spotted a shelf full in the new Cardiff store by the new Cardiff city football stadium. Saw 3x 360 and 1x 370. Already had one so no need to buy.
#34
Damn I am actually looking for the 360.
