great price for a top entry level touch screen phone. I got one from cpw with £10 credit for £93 as I got £15 cashback from topcashback and it came unlocked!

gutted, paid 107 @ carphone warehouse on friday:-(

Great price if you can unlock it.

I recently got it for £97.

Am very happy with it, but does anyone else find that (when on vibrate only) they can't feel the vibration when receiving a call or text. I normally wear jeans and keep it in my front pocket, but when I need it on silent, find the vibration very hard to notice, and virtually impossible if I'm moving/walking.

Does anyone know any settings to improve it? (or which one is best!)

Also, in the status bar at the top, there's a symbol of a man, and also a box with a circle behind it - anyone know what they mean?!

Thanks!

How does this compare to the LG Viewty please? I ordered one the other day and am awaiting it's arrival. All I can see that I know is different is that the Cookie has a 3.2mp camera, whereas the Viewty has a 5mp camera - is this a better phone otherwise? People in the Viewty thread gave some bad reviews - can anyone in the know please offer some advice?

Thanks

Nice. Thanks.

Warning, my girlfriend has a LG Cookie and hates it, it's terribly unresponsive due to the budget touchscreen, this makes everything slow, plus has a tendency to unlock itself in a handbag or something similar and dial out

Its essentially the Viewty minus the 3G and downsized camera. The software's the same and the phone is a lot slimmer.

I would say the Cookie is much better value for money unless you really need the 3g functions or the better camera.

Noticed tesco piggyback off o2 for their connection, does this mean an o2 sim will work without unlocking?

In a nutshell, NOPE

Good deal. Can that voucher code be used on other items from the Tesco website or is it strictly for mobile phones?
#19
Terrible phone.
Managed to get the latest firmware on, but in the end took it back, lost all my conatcts and keeps rebooting especially when connecting to a blootooh handsfree.

Just google lg cookie restart and you will see

Ordered this, now I'm thinking it is a very bad purchase after reading all the reviews. :?
Think I'll cancel this order now.
#21
Code can be used on anything over £90 see this post - http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/351153/6-weeks-of-discount-coupons-for-tes/ and give the man some rep!

Must be phone specific mine is anything but, responsive with no lag. I dont use any screen protector so maybe that has a bearing. It has its failings like, no 3G, WiFi, flash etc but the bang for your buck is loud, I'm loving it, came from a SE K850i.

As to unlocking in the handbag I cant comment lol ..but if I did, and only if *cough*, I'd be okay thanks to this

There was mixed reviews before I grabbed one, like/dislike but after much reading I took the plunge and have no regrets, the majority of complaints/faults I read about I haven't experienced myself.

If you dont like it then you'll get your money back on Fleabay np. I was watching prices for 2nd hand and most were sold between £90>£120 bracket, so no great loss.

Just a thought bud.

I have had my Lg cookie since christmas and have had no problems with it at all it is much more responsive than my friends LG viewty , I did purchase a mobile holder bag from play to keep mine in so it wont get knocked and come unlocked in my handbag.

I've got a Cookie and it's great, However when I bought it, It did occasionally restart and was quite annoying.

I've since updated it to a newer firmware version and it no longer restarts, Well actually I've updated it twice.

Once to V10N ( It restarted once in about a month of use). An now I've updated it to the latest V10D firmware ( V10D is newer than V10N ). It's not restarted since and everything works as it should.

You need XP to update it theirs a great tutorial here

You can now also unlock them for free here

You also need XP to unlock them for now anyway.

:pBought LG Viewty (Black) from Tesco using this voucher. Coupled with my own tesco vouchers I got it for £89.99. :whistling:

Shauneco, will updating the firmware void the warranty?

Bad phone and the price isn't really that great either.:whistling:

Thought the price was awesome with the heat being added, also updating the firmware seems to fix all the problems from reports on here.
Looking forward to getting it now, happy days .

Thanks to Arbk66 and Shauneco

Possibly if you use the V10N firmware as that's not an official release, However the latest V10D firmware is an official release and is available to download and update in the Philippines. You do have to either trick LG to believe your in the Philippines or use a unofficial flashing program to flash it. I used the latter.

I'm sure that version 10D will soon be available in the UK.

I have a viewty and don't like it at all - sorry!! It's quite clumsy and don't rate the camera at all - tends to take a pic about 2 seconds after you press the button. Just had my Tesco one unlocked (by Tesco) and am flogging it!!!!!!!!!

I was indecisive about getting this or the Viewty and I ended up opting for the Viewty when Phones4u had it for £97.

I find the Viewty great - I have added about 20 new themes for it, find the picture quality is excellent - http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c62/pja77uk/P020209_1048.jpg, and have had no problems with it at all.

So where did we go wrong? posted zillions of links, the mylgcookie.com working fine and the Ebays never so I took it for granted I'd contravened board rules.
