I love it! Great price, marking as Hot

Same problem with all these, battery life cannot keep up. I would like one for long haul flights but whats the point when the battery only last enough for 1 film

Can anyone answer these questions for me please?

1) Does this also run on mains power?

2) If it does run on mains power, does it have a rechargable battery or is it disposable batterys only?

Thanks.

Just so everyone knows, my experience with Empire Direct is that the guarantee relates to the Manufacturers warranties and is nothing to do with them :?

i.e. if you have a problem with something you bought from them they will return it on your behalf to the manufacturer for repair.

The same item purchased from a high street store may have cost a few pounds more but it would/might have been replaced or exchanged on the day

(Well it was £7 more per item at Boots when I purchased from Empire Direct, we bought 7 which is why we went with ED, but 5 months after purchase 1 of the 7 has gone wrong and has now been sent to the manufacturer for repair.
Of course ED's customer service is also useless as they can't even be bothered to tell you this or even ring you back after they have promised to do so. :x )

Like the OP's find, just don't like Empire Direct and wouldn't buy from them again, ever!

Just my experience/opinion, you pays your money and makes your choice (or something like that :))

But ED are a High Street store! Well at least they're a retail park store :D
No idea if this is available instore though. Or whether you would have got the same level of c/s.

I think it looks good, and is a great price, but both our kids have already got portable DVD players.

Why do you need a swivel screen on something that is not intended to be permanantly fixed to anything and is small enough to just turn the whole unit if needs be?

Just wondering :P

I would certainly rethink using Empire in the future.Had a television/pvr combo for a few months that has had a few niggles over that time. When it began needing tuning in every time it was switched on i contacted Empire.CS was less than enthusiastic but told me that they would pick up the unit for repair. No mention of timescales etc...Basically, "you are going to be without your telly"!
Maybe its just me,but when i've dealt with retailers like Argos and Amazon in the past, that do a straight swap for faulty items (argos after 13 months- a month out of warranty),its a bit of a surprise to be told a television a few months old will be taken away and 'repaired'.

It's so much easier to mount it on the headrest of a car, when you have swivilled the screen, and folded it down flat, like a tablet PC.

Are you allowed to use these things on flights?

1) Yes
2) the battery is built in and cannot be changed

I have this device and it is great. Works fine off USB and plays all DivX I have thrown at it.
