Super phone as was said in the other thread. You Wont find a better phone for the price.
Comes with a EU plug though, but its charged by microUSB so just get a UK adapter in a pound shop! It comes with the original box and accessories also including very good in ear earphones, all boxed new and sealed! Very solid build on the phone, its got a metal back on it. And with WP7 Mango out in a few months, its gonna become an even better phone.

"Price guard" was the recommended seller, and people who bought off that, including a close friend, had no problems. Phone was unlocked and came new and boxed.

Why have you posted this again?
#2
As this is a different model without vodafone branding. Its definitely unlocked this one, but so is the other one going by the other people who have bought it, but some people might mistake Vodafone branding as it being locked to Vodafone. So they can buy this and have peace of mind knowing its definitely unlocked :D
#3
Ok cheers.

So seller is price-guard to be certain?

http://www.esato.com/phones/compare.php?phone=622&cp=657

iPhone 4 price = £499.99
Optimus 7 price = £178

Apple fanboys will say otherwise, but apps are not the be all and end all of phones. My iPod Touch is somewhere gathering dust, I last accessed the appstore probably around 6 months ago. My Android phone has the key apps (news, facebook twitter), no games apart from Angry Birds - I use my phone to text and make calls (surprise, surprise) and browse the web. There's a £321.99 price difference between virtually the same spec'd phones apart from the OS they run on. You could buy a tablet with the money left over from this. See where I'm coming from?

The app store is good for how long the OS is out, and new API will be released with mango for developers. Remember this OS is less than a year old, where as iOS and Android are 3-4 years old, so not fair to compare the stores yet.

Ok cheers.

So seller is price-guard to be certain?

Yeah, that is the one selling it with shipping to UK/Ireland.

Its best to clarify seller in first post as Amazon can rotate sellers when clicking onto there site.

Cheers (added heat to both deals by the way)

Going by xe.com, that conversion price should be £180. Where did you get £188 from?

"Price Guard" was used by a friend and many people off the original thread, here: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056263837&page=14 and the phone was fine.

It will have HTML5, see here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSh0FrqhKfw ,and WP7 is the best out of all the major OS's at running HTML5, which is pretty much going to become standard over flash as its far faster and lower in size.

How would I pay in Euros? Surely the conversion Amazon shows would be what was charged to my credit card?
#19
Then the amazon conversion is wrong! XE.com is always right so I go by them, but im not sure why amazon has a different conversion rate.
#20
Maybe but Amazon is charging the card not XE. Your point is valid if XE is showing the global conversion rate.

Yeah I guess amazon might charge what the quote in the summary, but its still only a few pounds extra, and a bonus if you get charged the "right" conversion rate going by XE.

windows is a system/resource hog.

I salute your magnificent trolling Sir!!
You clearly haven't used WP7, as if you had, on ANY currently available device, you would find that it is anything but... out of the box, it's the slickest, smoothest experience out there IMO.
#24
I recently bought one from another vendor at similar price (also around £180-£190 mark). I have to say the interface is smooth and intuitive, very easy to navigate around. It probably isn't any faster than iOS or Android, but it's not exactly slow either. I use iPhone 4 as my primary mobile and I bought this for my 2nd sim card.

The phone itself is a bit large in size, but it's acceptable for a smartphone. It's well built and the battery has decent lifetime per charge. I don't like the tiny power button which is too small and a bit awkward to access single-handed. I don't like the camera shutter button either... it edges out on the side and too easy to be pressed, but luckily it's a 2-stage button (half-pressed and fully-pressed just like a shutter button of a decent digital camera) and the half-presses do not do anything to the phone outside the camera function. The camera in this phone is rubbish though... look elsewhere if you want a decent camera with your phone.

All in all, Win 7 Phone is a decent mobile OS (really looking forward to Windows Mango) and this is a very decent phone by LG... well worth £188!

All this guy does is troll mate so just ignore him. He was previously suspended because of that very reason I believe?

Just a poor Apple fan boy that feels the need to pipe up on ALL other brands & models.

Cheaper at ebay.de

Around £150 plus £12 shipping (14.90 Euro)

Item number is 140557800149

Phone is unlocked, only has Voda branding on box, not on phone. One voda app on phone which can be un-installed. Working perfect on O2 UK.

Hope this helps anyone. Its a great phone and I really like the Operating System. The internet is very fast and the touch screen is top notch. Will be much better with the Mango Update. Well worth the money.

Is it true that Bluetooth on this phone works only for pairing with hands free units and not for file transfer purposes?

At the moment yes, you can send files to say a laptop I think, but not receive them. That is a WP7 issue, but I think it will be changed with the mango update.

This is because: Der Amazon Währungsumrechner ist aktiviert.

The Amazon currency converting tool is activated. It's Amazon's in-house way of converting currencies, which can be deactivated.

XE isn't the "right rate", it's the market rate. The rates charged by banks are always poorer (although perhaps not £8 poorer) and are often derived from rates set by Visa / Mastercard themselves.

"have done" should be "look like they are doing"

Microsoft said Mango will arrive on new WP7 devices starting this *autumn*

Existing hardware may take a little longer.
#37
Yes the conversion rate you end up paying will be determined by your credit card company or bank. You can get an idea from xe.com but as someone stated this is the market rate so only applicable if you're a currency trader. Not going to be a million miles out though.
#38
Just got a wp7 and it's great. Light on the apps but got it where it needs it and so much new stuff every day
#39
I have to have a quick play with a W7 phone. How does it compare with the other phone OS'?
#40
Does anyone know if the OS on this phone is in English? Surely if it's coming from the German market the OS will be set up in German? Or is it like Windows 7 Starter on a netbook where it asks you what language you want when you first boot it up.
