Super phone for the price! Got one myself off this buyer, came in 3 or 4 days I think it was, and its fully unlocked to all Irish networks so I assume its the same in the UK and the phone has minimal Vodafone branding, just the logo on the box and a Vodafone app on the phone which can be uninstalled.

Comes with a EU plug though, but its charged by microUSB so just get a UK adapter in a pound shop! It comes with the original box and accessories also including very good in ear earphones! Very solid build on the phone, its got a metal back on it. And with WP7 Mango out in a few months, its gonna become an even better phone.

I bought from the seller "Electronic Versand", they seem to be selling used ones now, but they were selling new ones a few days ago so maybe the sellers rotate at times, but I know others who bought from the seller "Price guard" and the phone was unlocked and came exactly the same as my one, so I guess they are all the same, just from different sellers.

Vodafone branded, Windows Mobile 7, your post is incorrect you cant say for certain that this phone will come unlocked as its clearly stated as Vodaphone branded which means it could well be locked and you may have just been very lucky.
#3
Theres a massive thread on a big irish forum where multiple people have bought it and it has been unlocked for each one of them. The branding is on the box.

I would not have ordered otherwise.

Thats not the point it doesn't say unlocked and you cant say that every phone that's bought will be unlocked, for all you know the seller may have had a stock of unlocked handsets and may now be selling locked ones.

Its a good price for a half decent handset but forum rules don't allow personal experience as it may not be the same for everyone its like Quidco, if i post a item and i got Quidco i cant post that deal with the cash deducted even though i got it it doesn't mean everyone will.

OK Fair enough, but more than likely its unlocked, anyhow, I posted another deal for the DEFINITELY unlocked version of this phone which is £12 extra.

And a good price for a half decent phone? Are you kidding me? This is a super phone, absolutely demolishes the iphone for bang for your buck! And windows phone 7 is very slick and quick!

Will this have warranty in this country?

I think under EU law its 24 months warranty with any new electronics bought in the EU. But it may be just 12 months, im not 100% sure.

This is a 500c+ deal any day of the week. I've seen some deals for pretty average phones go hot, this is far better than most deals.

It really is but I doubt it will get that hot as there is people voting cold without even contributing to the thread. I have no clue why though as its a great deal, the phone is the best phone ive ever used, iPhone 4 included! Its incredibly fast and responsive, and the OS is really clean and slick.

Its best to clarify seller in first post as Amazon can rotate sellers when clicking onto there site.

Cheers

Can I post the thread on the forum website I first saw the offer on to where all the other people bought the phone to give people here an idea of what it was like? To show people here that they're phones were also unlocked like mine?

The warranty will be valid in the EU.

Both the phone deals are priced higher when converted to GBP on Amazon site so maybe the price needs to be changed in title? Sorry, still cheap though.

Whats battery life like?

I get 2 days at least with moderate wifi and 3G use. Its got a 1500mah battery compared to standard 1300. With the Mango update, battery is meant to become even better for WP7 devices.

Well I just assumed it would get converted as when I buy stuff off amazon.co.uk to be delivered to Ireland, my credit card gets charged in pounds, then converted to euros later and I see what the conversion was on the statement.

Nope you probably won't be covered, the EU warranty is merely a directive. Nothing enforceable.

Just wondering a few things....
There is no adobe flash at the moment or there is?
Also how expensive is the software for say sat nav?
Think I need to scroll through the marketplace for software I use on my Android phone....
Thanks

I recently got this phone from Expansys when it was £185, so this is a fantastic deal. As for the phone, so far Im loving it. Battery life could be better, but this appears to be an issue with all smartphones. Really like the W7 interface and wi-fi internet is fast and smooth. This is my first smartphone, so Im not sure how it compares to the Android, IPhone etc, but Id definitely recommend it.

If you need it to last, turn the wifi off and you don't play games it will last upto 4 days. but normal use you will get 2 days out of.

LG European warranty 24 months.
Got an LG phone last year in spain, dropped on the floor and went a bit crazy, phoned up LG support UK and they collected and repaired no problem.
They didn't even ask for the receipt, probably they know if still in warranty by the serial number.
This is a very hot deal.
BTW, that phone was locked when I bought it in Spain, but in UK it was working on any network.

Yawn. Does it say ANYWHERE that the phone is locked? No it doesn't. So it won't be locked. Learn the difference between branded and locked.

Only a fool would rely on what an advert description does not say. Polly69 is right - I can't think of any mobile retailers, apart from second hand shops, which divulge whether their phones are locked or unlocked, unless they advertise them as SIM free to attract an inflated price. These are advertised as "on Vodafone" and "Vodafone branded" not "SIM free" or "unlocked". And as there are multiple sellers involved there is no saying on what you will get, and more importantly, no recourse to refund if you find the handset you get is turns out to be SIM or SP locked to Vodafone. So, even if some stock from some sellers is unlocked (usually depending on which region for which it was originally intended), it's still perfectly fair to point out that there is no guarauntee that this is the case.

Edit: Also be aware if these are old network stock, that many of these devices had faulty Bluetooth hardware which can only be fixed by changing the motherboard. Make sure you can detect and pair with another BT device as soon as you get it. Obviously buying from Germany means the returns process isn't going to be cheap, quick or painless...

The box just has a tiny vodafone logo on the bottom corner on it. There is no vodafone logo on the phones casing or anything.

Woah! I hope you don't go on eBay buying things on the strength of what the description does not say. Its got vodafone branding, and going by other times ive seen descriptions like that, its just meant the box has branding on it, and the phone was unlocked. More than likely, if not definitely it will be unlocked, the seller would say its locked in the description and not ship internationally if it was locked I say.
