What, no GPS? Seriously..

There's no need for GPS as it piggybacks your phone VOA Bluetooth, GPS would drain the 400mah battery stupidly quickly.

Best price around for the device that I'm sorely tempted in. Heat!

These are supposed to be used in tandem with your phone and won't do much without it other than track your health. WiFi, GPS, calls etc. are performed via your phone and a Bluetooth link. This Is how ALL android wear devices function. If you want a smart watch with built in GSM then you're looking at the wrong product range as there are plenty of Chinese knockoffs without a decent operating system and only a few hours of battery life.

No speakers?! Android wear isn't supposed to have speakers you numbscull
you need for name calling!!. if apple watch has then theres no reason why android wear shouldn't

There's every reason, mainly due to battery performance, and the iWatch isn't even available yet! You can't compare a first generation product which has been out for some months with something that is still only a list of specifications on an apple presentation.. You should do some more research into wearable's.

Tethered watch! Tragic.

Not really very smart is it if it needs ANOTHER device to do basic tasks that other watches have been doing for donkeys. These smartwatches are a way to upsell their phones. Sad turds of things for people who have no real requirements and therefore no real need.

A properly smart watch should be a standalone product. GPS is core functionality now. Anything put on the market without it is a poseur's toy.

isn't an iwatch a first generation product and you're telling me theres no speaker on the iwatch??.
surely it's an advantage to have a speaker on a wearable .
As for this watch it's a battery drain and thats tethered to my htc m8 which normally has amazing battery life. Not good enough for a second generation watch by lg as i presume lg gwatch was the first. Also the large bezels will be irritating when swiping, moto 360 is better in this regards but again battery life is poor and screen isnt as sharp as the lg g r. Anyone on the fence, i'd advise you to stay there.

It's not even to market yet! It's like trying to compare this year's blockbuster movie to next years when the film is still in production.
I'd prefer a device with longer battery life than a dumb speaker so you can hear a tinny little voice in a quiet room. If you want that feature buy yourself a Bluetooth headset.

Does it matter that it's not released as enough info has been released..just in case you missed it

don't think thats a concept watch!
I'd prefer a watch with a longer battery life too, one and a half days doesn't cut it for me needs to be at least a week. Glad I've gone back to my original watch. You enjoy your lg!

It's certainly not a mass production unit is it? There's a clear reason why it's still a prototype device with only select tech journalists given incomplete test units. It all comes down to battery life in real world usage, don't be surprised if the speaker is pulled from the device when it eventually goes from prototype to mass produced at some point "early next year"...

I don't think you really understand this particular part of the market... Do some research as I suspect you will be disappointed if you purchase an android wear device expecting it to do things it doesn't.

Aww I shouldn't have come to this thread - up until now I had no interest in a smart watch, now, I must have one.

People - How long does it take for Amazon.FR to ship this out to the UK please?
#20
I got mine within 24hrs, came via Yodel. Someone else said that they ship from the UK, wont be able to confirm until I've picked up the parcel tonight.
#21
If you are not sure you could get the cheaper pebble smart watch. £85 last time i checked.
#22
Coming up as £178 now, and amazon france wont let me use the remaining part of my gift voucher. I'm out!
#23
I've had one since the UK launch, well actually I've had two as one packed up. Great device, it doesn't need a speaker as it controls your phone or it will pair up with any Bluetooth headphones or speakers. LG stated it didn't fit a GPS chip due to battery life, the latest Sony watch has one tho. The Lollipop update improves the watch considerably, improving the ui on both the watch and Android Wear app.

Overall its impressive and real rather than vapour wear that has only been seen running a demo!

Was yours from the UK in the end? Mine has been dispatched by Chronopost and I've been reading loads of awful reviews about them and I'm now stuck on "Package Delayed" and it is stuck in Leipzig...
#25
I'm pretty sure it did come from France in the end, but had a UK return address on it. Packaging is in the bin now.
The watch is intended for the French market, has some french text on the box and inside is a Euro 2 pin charger, which I expected, but not fussed about.
Watch is fine and worked straight out the box and updated etc.
Mine was delivered by Yodel.
Could be bad weather delaying it.
Hope that helps.
