357eur works out about £285 is there postage on top that brings it up to 290. My german not so great.

Great deal, though think it says something about being available 11 july.

how does it work in terms of returns or warranty ? Will LG service centre in UK accept this without incurring any extra charges ? Also if I need to return it to Amazon, does it have to be shipped back to Germany ?

I was just resigned to getting the 16gb version as I could not trust the warranty with any of the uk sellers and then this comes up.How does warranty work with amazon Germany?
#14
You pay to return it to germany and they get it fixed and then you possibly pay to ship it back. Thats was i gathered from the g3 amazon.de. 500+ posts thread.

there is a lot on the other G2 Expansys thread but in short, LG UK will not provide any warranty cover for european/overseas models (I.e. 32gb). So yes, you probably need to ship back to Germany. No idea if Amazon UK will assist. Worth asking.
#16
It makes you wonder why they don't sell it here.

Amazon UK have nothing to do with the German site; they just operate under the same name.

Their warranties etc. are independent of each other.

Cracking bit of kit, I've got the 16gb UK version. Fast, great battery and looks great. I find the 16gb is enough for me as I use cloud storage and stream music. I've got unlimited data on my plan.

cheaper on simplyelectronics, but it will take longer to arrive

Can i ask, how much better is this on the camera compare to a N5?

thanks..

I find the pictures excellent. I can't compare to the Nexus five but from reviews the camera is better on the G2.also the battery life is great I'm getting a full day easily with medium to heavy use. I know that's not the case with the Nexus 5

Bought mine for £260 from an ebay far east seller. Arrived in less than a week. Had to flash the european rom. But all fine. Basically unless it's DOA I was fine taking the risk.
#28
How did you get £290? Mine says £302 when I click 'my credit card is in GBP' :|
#29
what about software updates, would be have to wait for german updates or can we use the UK software?

if you didn't pay import duty straight away you may get charged further down the line. that's what's putting me off getting from Hong Kong, with import duty and the couriers extra charges it may not be worth it. who did you get yours off?

Phone LG to find out if the warranty of eu items are valid in uk. I bought a canon from amazon.it and canon said the warranty is valid in uk. 30 days return apply to all amazon sites but beyond that its the manufacturer to fix things. Within 30 days you need to send it possibly to Germany though the item will arrive from sarl. If you are sending to amazon.de for change of mind, then you need to pay the return postage. However, if the item is faulty they will reimburse the postage to Germany.
#32
I'm sure I read that EU warranties had to apply in all EU member states. Off to trawl through history.
#33
Bought my (hong kong) G2 off eBay too and found that LG actually release updates for the HK model way before the UK one. All the audio hissing issues have been resolved in the latest patch too. Truly excellent phone but it does feel just a tad too wide when trying to use it with just a thumb.

The only issue I have with the camera is the whites are way too bright when using auto settings. It's still a 13mp camera though and you get great detail using the right ISO.

You'd think but LG UK have 100% confirmed that they will not provide warranty support for anything other than the 16GB Uk version - no asian, german/european versions at all.

Amazon.de have confirmed that anything bought via them must be returned for warranty etc to them, and Amazon Uk can't help at all.

I believe that is the g3.

I just tried adding one to my basket which was fine, but when I logged into my amazon account, it immediately said it can't be sent to my address (which is in the UK) so looks like this isn't available anyway. How do you get it to be shipped to the UK - the original poster says that the price includes shipping to UK but I couldn't get as far as the shipping screen.

Yeah possibly. Hadn't really thought of that. We'll see ....

For those with any D802, you can basically turn it in to a geographic variety you want. See these two posts

1) An easy tool to flash the stock roms.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797190

2) List of stock roms as .kdz files

http://www.droidviews.com/how-to-restore-lg-g2-to-stock-firmware/

Most of us on HUKD would use one of the European varieties.

This is interesting. I have an LG G2 802 32gb that is SEA (south east asia).

Currently, WiFi is not working and the screen has been scratched by the QuickView case.

Ive flagged this with LG Support (UK) who seem to be ok with me sending it back for repair. Are you all saying this is not a good thing?

They havent explicitly asked whether it is 16 gb etc so I guess they may assume its UK?

Also, Do you think the stock EUR open rom will fix the issues I am having with my phone in terms of sharing internet via Wifi hotspot ?
#40
I suspect they aren't expecting anyone to try sending a non UK phone back to them, so you may find when it arrives back at LG they reject it. Then again, LG are the same company who told me that European warranty wasn't valid in the Uk because we didn't use the Euro as currency so who knows.
