This is one of the cheapest deals I've seen for the G2 Mini recently, probably because the G3 was released not long ago.

Screen Size: 4.7" IPS
Camera: 8MP
Processor: Qualcomm Quad-Core 1.2GHz
Storage: 8GB
RAM: 1GB
Operating System: Android 4.4 Kit-Kat

Available in black or white.

Thanks ;)

not much of difference to moto g;
moto g got better screen resolution however a weaker camera to this.
#4
Mini at 4.7". I think not. It is called Mini due to the dire screen resolution, way lower than the Moto G and even lower than iPhones.

For those who want a large screen, this is more ideal. This also has 4G, and although there is a 4G model of the Moto G now, you only get 8GB of storage. Other than that, the moto g is still a great phone for the price :)

Obviously the main reason it is 'mini' is because the original G2 is bigger than this. You can't really compare this to an iPhone because of the vast difference in price. Obviously, the moto g will have some advantages over the LG, but the LG does have some advantages over the Motorola too.

Agreed, you will find the build quality of the G2 Mini much nicer than the Moto G which does feel cheap in the hand. The screen is still very high quality even though it is lower res than the Moto G. The camera on the G2 Mini smashes the Moto G to bits too, this is a great deal.

hot hot hot would go for this if i needed a phone, nice find op

Is the battery good like the bigger G2?

The screen is poor in comparison to the Moto G and it has no auto brightness - which is ridiculous. It also runs the old LG skin so won't be as nippy as the Moto G in general use. Preference for aesthetics is down to the individual.

The camera on the Moto G is fine in decent light. I took some really nice snaps on it in Corfu. The Lg camera will be better overall though. The question is whether fast updates and future update support, nearly-stock Android, a higher res screen and auto brightness are less important than a slightly better camera.

There is an SD card slot on the LG though, so an additional 64GB of memory can be added to the device. The Moto G lacks this feature, as well as 4G connectivity, unless you buy the 4G LTE model. There is also a larger screen and better PPI, so although the screen resolution is better on the Moto G, there are more pixels with the LG, so text/images are clearer. It also has a bigger battery which is important.

Both phones are great for the price, and it really depends on what the user wants to do with their device.

Good deal! Misleading name for a phone though! Mind you look at all these different new Minis (the cars), none of them are really "mini"...

According to TechRadar, the battery can last for 2 days (depending on usage) and is similar to the original G2 - http://www.techradar.com/reviews/phones/mobile-phones/lg-g2-mini-1226995/review/4#articleContent

Better PPI/ More Pixels???

Moto G - 329PPI
LG G2 Mini - 234PPI

Moto G - 1280 x 720 = 921,600
LG G2 Mini - 960 x 540 = 518,400

Clearly more pixels on the Moto G.
Better camera on LG but for £35 less 4G Moto G all the way for me.

I think both phones are fairly similar, and both are a good choice. I don't personally have a preference, but in response to your comment, the G2 has some advantages too. It has better build quality, a better camera and bigger battery.

Long gone are the days when a mobile phone deal is not compared to Moto G.
I am fed up of reading on every mobile phone deal here on HUKD, Moto G is better, better value..
These comments should be stopped, they are starting to get really boring to read now.
MOD`s should warn people of these comments. Its not a comparison site its a deals site.

It's like moto g owners are desperate to convince themselves they haven't got a budget phone with a sh1t camera and no SD slot so they slate every other phone, why they are looking at phone deals if they love theirs so much is beyond me.

Not really. It's just a popular phone because it's excellent. The comments thread is intended for this sort of discussion. It just happens that the Moto G is the best value smartphone at the moment in terms of bang-for-buck. If people didn't have these discussions then HUKD would be a very quite place. I'm sure similar variations of this occur in TV, cosmetics, holiday threads :)

Internet browsing, youtube videos, games, and the occasional picture. Most important thing is it has to last 3/4 years or so (it's for a gift to someone who rarely upgrades anything) without slowly to an unusable level.

Internet browsing, youtube videos, games, and the occasional picture. Most important thing is it has to last 3/4 years or so (it's for a gift to someone who rarely upgrades anything) without slowly to an unusable level.

If they don't mind having an outdated phone, the S3 looks like a great phone for what they want. The 1.4GHz quad core processor and 1GB of RAM should be able to handle games/videos fairly well, and with 1GB of RAM, it should be able to have quite a few apps open at the same time without much of a slow down. The camera is also good (8MP), so this seems to suit their needs. The model also has at least 16GB of storage available (there are 32GB and 64GB versions too, and all 3 models also have an SD card slot to expand storage further), so it's an excellent choice for someone who wants to download lots of apps/games.

My only concern with this phone would be the Android version. Because the phone is outdated, the S3 will no longer receive updates to the Android operating system. This isn't too much of an issue right now, but in a couple of years time (or sooner), less apps available will support this version of Android. Therefore, it won't be possible to play some of the newer releases in the future. In Android's defence though, most of the popular apps do try and support most/all versions of the OS, and because 4.3 Jelly Bean (the android version on the S3) is a popular version, I don't think it will be unsupported for a long time yet.

If you do decide that that will be an issue, then all of the 3 phones you've suggested would be fine. I would personally go with the G2 Mini, because it has a decent amount of storage (8GB) and this can be expanded using an SD card. It has the latest android version (4.4 KitKat) out of the box, and the battery is removable. Having a removable battery might not seem that amazing, but if the person plans to keep the phone for a few years, this is important. After a while, the battery may start to perform badly, so instead of having to buy a new phone, you can buy a battery offline instead. They usually cost no more than around £15, and as long as you make sure it's the official one, it'll work fine.

Sorry that this was such a long answer, I hope this has helped :)

Now £152.99 for the black model as part of their deal of the day for today(Friday). It's one of the 4G models as I've checked with Expansys.
If anyone wants to post this as a deal feel free.
