Wouldn't think it worth the money even new and unlocked at this stage.

Certainly not worth it as an upgrade from a G2.

Battery life is poorer plus overheating problems mean it`s a no from me sorry.
#3
I was probably unlucky, but my screen just stopped working after 14 months.

I have bought a Motorola G4 Plus, and tbh it is much better than the G3.

If you can't afford a G4 Plus, check out the G4 for the same price as you are looking at, only it will be new.

Thought the G4 has problems tho?
#5
Big advantage of the G3 is that you can replace the battery easily and add an sd card, which you cant to with the G2.

Motorola G4. LG g4 does have issues.

I was looking at the Moto G4 in John Lewis. 16gb and no SD Card slot tho??

Better phones for your money. Moto G4 springs to mind as well as others.

I'm pretty sure the moto g4 has a micro sd card slot

I need a good camera, so anything that takes good pics is fine

Which is just as well as you'll probably need to buy new battery straight away.

My G2 keeps crashing when i receive an incoming call. Time to replace it.

Moto g4 is completely not q better phone than the g3 which is based on my opinion after owning both. Weve got 2 g3's in our house both recently received the android 6.0 official update and both run flawlessly no overheating which coincidentally my Moto g4 overheated every time the camera was used. The g3 has a much sharper screen than the g4 and offers the same size in a smaller frame. It's also an upgrade on a g2 which I have also owned, it's bigger for starters and has user replaceable battery and SD card. I wouldn't be comfortable paying over £120 for a g3 but I would certainly buy one over a Moto g4 which is a very average phone experience imo.

I have looked at the Chinese brands, some are under £150 with good specs. Unless someone can recommend a good one??

Can you suggest something better then??

Cheaper here https://www.fonegiant.com/lg/lg-g3-unlocked-b-459.html Not sure what the company is like tho. I had my G2 from Smartphonestore and they were excellent.

Previous owner of a LG G3, one of the best phones I ever owned! Yes battery life not great but I used the phone heavily so no surprise. Had a great camera, loved that phone only upgraded to the LG G4 due to the G3 freezing randomly at times which was unfortunate as I wouldn't have changed it otherwise.

Agreed. Recent upgrade to android 6.0 has turned my 2 year old G3 into a new phone. Battery life is now phenomenal.

Anyone thinking about buying one of these might want to consider CEX - 2 year guarantee has to be worth an extra few quid.

If you still have it upgrade to Android 6.0. What a difference.

I just have my G4 now which automatically updated to Android 6.0 a month or so ago but unfortunately since the update I had to get rid of Facebook app as it constantly came up with an error message of facebook has stopped working even when I wasn't using the app :( It was increasingly annoying and constant so I unistalled and re-installed the app but made no difference :/ so just deleted it in the end. Other than that I can't say I've noticed much difference in anything since the update on the G4

spot on. can't believe some of the nonsense being spouted on here. the moto g4 is what it is a 150 quid phone full of compromises to get that cost. the lg g3 was by a long way the best flagship available when it was released and for a good year afterwards. it still holds its own with all but the very newest top end handsets.

So im guessing its the LG G3 over a Chinese brand? If not what Chinese brand would you consider?

As I keep saying, the only 2 I'd consider (apart from this G3) at a reasonable price with good cameras to rival your G2 are:

Huawei P9: Huawei P9 (like new) Titanium Grey 32GB - o2 Refresh - £192.00

Xiaomi Mi5: Xiaomi Mi5 smartphone 4G 32GB 3GB RAM Snapdragon 820 Type-C Black/Gold/White £229.66 @ Gearbest

I totally agree. A SD800 series SoC is always going to outperform the SD400 & SD600 series. You are also correct regarding the screen resolution. If your going for the G3, make sure you go for the 32GB version as this has an extra GB of Ram, (taking it to 3GB.) I think £160 is too much for the 16GB/2GB version.

I know its way more expensive, but have you considered the One Plus 3? I'm also a G2 owner and have gone down this path, (as the Pixel is way overpriced.)

You can find like new G3s on eBay for a touch over £105. Same type of warranty as you'd get with Smartfonestore, plus unlocked. Well worth a look.

This looks good on Ebay, £125.99, Grade A and a 12 month warranty :) Excellent Feedback and Ebay Premium Service
