#5
I presume it will be locked to O2.

Its only asking that so you get the right sim card, otherwise complete the checkout and its £5

Anyway, just ordered one. Even if its locked, its OK as i am O2 customer. So, the overall cost would be :
£5.00-£3.50 (quidco) = £1.50.

Not a bad deal !!!!

Thanks for that. Needed an extra o2 PAYG phone!

It is £5. The idea of the tariff is that the PAYG SIM card will be defaulted to that "tariff package" BUT you can change it at least once a month AND you do NOT have to top up o2 PAYGs every month - indeed you can keep a number alive as long as you "make or receive a chargeable call at least once in any 6 month period”

It's just that IF/WHEN you top-up with £10 or more that tariff package will give you some perks/calls/txts/etc to use over the next 30 days before they lapse. IF you chose to top up afresh in those 30-days time you'd get those perks/calls/txts/etc AGAIN; and if not then your top-up credit b/fwd stays alive.

Re Quidco you'd need to make sure cleared any o2 coookies; logged into Quidco site; searched for "o2" and then on the main o2 page on Quidco you'll see the first £back rate:
"O2 Cashback rates : £3.50for Pay-As-You-Go (single commission per order basis)"

Thanks just ordered great as a backup phone for festivals! The batteries on these wee cheap phones tend to last longer and no big deal if it gets broken or lost!

Always meant to get a cheap backup phone for such ocassions but always put off by the necessary £10 credit purchase as have no use for it since have a sim only contract. Ideal for me this time as I am on o2 and no credit required!

Thanks OP

Quidco states:

"In order to receive £3.50 cashback a PAYG phone handset has to be activated and topped up with credit."

So either put the phone on the shelf as an ornament and miss out on the potential £3.50, or else open it up, charge up the battery, and activate and top-it-up : as I previously reported the £10 top-up credit and number will survive for 6 months as long as you "make or receive a chargeable call at least once in any 6 month period".

Fantastic - been wanting a cheap o2 backup phone to save my iphone from damage!
#21
If anyone has one of these and knows if they are unlocked, or how much it will cost to get it unlocked, please let us know! I need one on the Tesco network as I have tons of airtime with them from past deals, and if buying this AND getting it unlocked costs as much as just buying a phone on the Tesco network, I'd rather do the latter.
#22
I cant seem to get through the checkout without adding a tarif...what am i doing wrong?
#23
cheers just ordered one:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

doesn't tesco use the same network as O2 ?
i'm not really clued up on mobiles tbh but my daughter as a mobile on vodafone which accepts asda sim because apparently asda use vodafone network.

maybe it works the same with tesco and O2 ?

I have an existing O2 payg with credit on it so if I ask them to transfer that to the new sim would this work to activate the sim card to receive the cashback.

You will not get that £3.50 as quidco will take it as they take your first £5

Would of been better to sign upto one of the other cashback sites, if it's your first time.
