This really was £349.99, only a week or so ago on the Play website. This is a fantastic saving of £150, on a very good phone.

The LG GD900 will run the LG's S-Class UI with a lot of touch-related goodies. The handset features multi-touch input as well as gesture support. This means that features like the two-finger zoom we saw on the Arena is available for the GD900. The LG GD900 Crystal boasts the new S-Class user interface, as found on the Arena. In addition, the Crystal comes with a multimedia player that seems to be able to cope with just about anything, a full web browser, messaging capabilities and a document viewer.

Both the keypad and the large 3" display are touch-sensitive, and they can be used in a wide variety of ways. For example, the keypad can be used as a mouse, a touchwheel, it can be used for gesture control, handwriting recognition or multi-touch control.. and of course it also works as a standard keypad.

The display is not just touch-sensitive, but also high-resolution with 800 x 480 pixels - substantially better than the current model of iPhone.

The LG GD900 also has handwriting recognition, which isn't too frequent on phones with capacitive screens.

The GD900 offers 'mouse mode' for a more convenient browsing experience. This means that you will be able to control a virtual mouse with your touch keypad, much like you would do on a laptop.

only diff to me is the wifi, and you save £170

It definitely has the wow factor and works really well. Though I would think once the excitement of the transparent keypad wears off you're kinda left with a pretty average slider. I voted hot though as have not seen it cheaper (bare in mind its sold awfully since release probably due to price)

Hi,

I would be wary of simply electronics I will definitely not use them again. I purchased a canon Ixus 100IS from them as the bundle deal they were offering was very competitively priced. When my camera did not turn up on time I did a bit of googlin and realised that their products are possibly grey imports . When my camera eventually arrived ( after phoning every day) the box was really tattered. The cannon warranty was not valid for UK either, although they provide there own warranty. Search AV forums for more info, some people have had good experience from them but deffo not me im afraid.

No it isnt, so i guess we all better buy an iphone, so only iphone`s exsist in the world and then we can all lead a locked down software mobile phoning lifes, and eventually we can all lead our lifes according to Apple,

while we are at it its no iPad either but then again the iPad aint no iPhone.

Soylent Apple.

thought it was time some one with the phone commented, so here I am...

It's pretty sweet, the novelty of a see through slider has kind of worn off .... but it hasnt for the people who havn't seen it yet, I get alot of people I meet wanting a closer look / play which is kind of nice I guess....

the 'LG S-Class' interface is pretty alright .. but isnt the best ever, the camera is good, but the main reason for me that I got the phone was the ability to have a touch screen + keypad, it works as a nice combo and its also great for when you're browsing you dont have to touch the screen (well get your hand in the way) to move the pointer. Also the keyboard gestures seemed really kool when I got it ..and are if you remember to use them!

Also another 'big selling point' of the phone (or atleast when I got it) was the dolby sound, its a bit hit and miss, but pretty kool. However for some songs it sounds worse when you have it on, particularly with speakers...odd...

So all in all bit of a mixed bag, im happy with mine (8mp camera, good music player, kool touch screen) so works for me! In hind sight for the money im not sure if I would rather this or the tocco ultra with internet (so less need for wifi)

nb: also mine isnt so blue on the front :P ..oh and also the keypad while drunk isnt the most usfull thing in the word because unlike buttons you dont get the touch response so you know you get the right key :p

So this has an open OS then does it?

The guy has a point - for the price you can get smart phones, and not this feature phone in disguise. Sure, if you want to pay a premium for a novelty finish (transparency), go ahead. Personally I'd rather be getting something I'll use.

You need a digital SLR really to see the benefit of 8MP. I can guarantee that if you saw a photo from this phone, and compared it to a 2-5MP phone, you wouldn't notice the difference.
#28
I got this phone on an upgrade in August and have to say I really didn't like it. I really couldn't get used to it at all, I was actually really disapointed I hadn't followed my OH and bought the Samsung Jet.
I sold mine less then a month old for £200 in my loocal newspaper and received quite a few calls and the first visitor bought it.

hot price, pants phone.

very gimmicky .. and badly written software.

no not at all, but every bloody moby phone thread has the usualy iPhone comment, someone may be happy with this phone personally if it aint android i wont touch it, but i dont comment on every moby thread about android devices.
#31
Looks nice, but wouldn't go for it purely because of the OS on it. No where near as feature rich as iPhoneOS/Android/Symbian
banned#32
and Apple continue to laugh as the competition flail
fgs cant somebody make something that can rival the iphone interface
