No!!!!!!

This is completely different, it's 4x the size, and needs external power!

I didn't miss the O2 deal. I was bang on it. O2 just had different ideas. Berks.

I thought I must have dreamt that since the post seems to have dissapeared and I've heard nothing from them since i ordered it?

Did they cancel or something?

Also can't see a previous orders thing on the website which is pretty shoddy.

There was no o2 deal.......Just an o2 rip-off.

There was an O2 deal if you got lucky. I received my drive the day after ordering it. But then I missed out on the play Windows 7 ultimate deal. Swings and Roundabouts.

So have they been cancelled then?

+ delivery?

Not so great for a huge chuck of kit that needs a PSU of it's own.
I'll stick to my slower but much more portable Samsung drive.

The play deal on Windows 7 ultimate for £11 has. No idea about the other drives from O2. Mine turned up though.

in the last 5 minutes:

Hello
Sorry we haven't been able to send you the portable Samsung DVD+CD RW that you ordered from us a couple of weeks ago. We were surprised by the level of response and unfortunately didn't have enough stock to meet the demand.
As we won't be able to meet your order, we're giving you back enough money to buy the same product somewhere else. If you've already had a refund for £17.50, we'll send you another £17.50 in the next few days. This'll give you a total of £35.
And if you haven't had any money back yet, we'll put £35 in your account in the next few days.
We'll credit the account that you used to pay for the drive - but it may take a few days for the money to clear.
We apologise again that we weren't able to complete your order this time.
Regards
O2

wait a minute. that cannot be right? was the drive £17.50 or £35 - I'm sure it was the former but cannot check cos the post has vanished, somewhat erroneously, into the ether.

if they're actually giving me double my money back then good on 'em...sounds like a ruse though...

This is a pretty good deal.Yes, it's bigger than the O2 one and it needs its own power supply, but it does the job, it's faster, and you don't have to worry about whether your USB sockets are going to be powerful enough to run it.
