ok... £10 spend, £7.50 quidco.
Net £2.50 spend, but.....
Quidco for 'fonebank' is £3 (new customer) [50p credit]
fonebank offer £2 for phone. [£2.50 credit]
spend £1 on recorded delivery [£1.50 credit]
= get £1.50 and £10 of phone credit for nor trashing the phone and posting it off for £1

any good?

can the £10 top up card be used against an existing orange contract?
I know o2 allow you to do it, whenever I get £10 o2 vouchers I can call them and theyll subtract that £10 off my monthly direct debit and just cancel the card so I don't have to bother with 2 separate numbers etc

Interested in knowing if this is the case.

Ha, came to post this deal.:D Ordered two for my mum and dad. Ordered on Orange.
Looks like a nice basic phone should be ideal as long as its easy to navigate.
They already have Orange PAYG phones, will they be able to move the credit from this phone sim to their existing PAYG number. (they wont remember another number) and then use their old sim in this phone?

Great deal! Get it on Orange and use it for Orange Wednesdays at cinemas or Pizza Express (two starters and two main courses all for the price of one main course!)

My daughter bought a phone from Argos a couple of months ago, she didn't need the £10 Orange top-up that came with it as she has a pay monthly contract.
My husband has Orange PAYG so my daughter phoned them and asked if they could transfer it to his phone. They did it no problem in minuites.

Good deal, ordered one, Thanks! The SIM has free text for life!!!

The sim that come with the phone is pre activated within 8 days, ie the £10 is not on the phone when you get it but will be within that time.

The £10 top-up my daughter got ( in my previous post ) was on the sim that came with the phone. They still transfered it, my son also put the sim in an old phone several days later and found it still had £10 on it even after the transfer.

Dual band, does that mean I use it in America?

Unfortunately not. Tri-band which includes the 1900 GSM band is the American standard. This will only be the UK and Europe.
#31
Only slightly relevant to this post, but as it's unlocked I could have O2 sim. Does credit with O2 expire ? Thinking abut the broadband deals that crop up, with top up £10 per three months.
#32
I've never used Orange before, does credit last as long as you can make it? I will only use this phone for 'wednesdays'
#33
Ordered mine, Thank you x

To get an O2 broadband discount you can give a friend/family's O2 number, rather than going to the trouble of getting a PAYG that needs topups. Found this out when I was going to cancel my O2 broadband because I'd switched mobiles. The guy in retentions asked me to register a friend or family member's O2 number instead, to continue claiming the discount. :)
