Been looking for a Blu Ray Home Cinema System for a while and found this today. Looked on HUKD and not found it cheaper. Still going for £200 & £350 elsewhere on the internet so delivered for £149.99 seems a bargain. Ordered mine this morning! (was £167.98 when I first posted this)

bargain price for a quality system hot from me
#3
Ive got this system myself...

Be warned though the back surround speaker cables are pretty short. Also be aware there is a hissing coming from my left back speaker. ooking on the internet apparently this is a problem across the board and not just my unit.

If I purchased this, would I be able to use the Blu-Ray player in the bedroom, and the speakers in the living room? or are the speaker connections specific to the unit. I have a PS3 attached to LG 42LD450 in living room.

I bought this a while back and added on HUKD
Didn't get great heat but I thought that was a good deal then.

I have it setup in my bedroom. USB input great from playing music and movies from external hardisk and have my PS3 plugged into it as well.

For this price heat added.

Looks good but no HDMI input put me off

Hmm, who are Pricelover?

I'd rather share £165 of my hard-earned with a well-known reputable company.
#11
I will have to have a gander at this, cheers.

Haha - Amazon.co.uk - "Dispatched and sold by pricelover or Hughes direct"... so either pay more for the same company to deliver, or another random company... Well done to you sir...

Price seems ok for budget kit but if your getting bluray then surely the whole point is high definition which includes Hid Def audio. I would be thinking about getting an amp with DTS master Audio or Dolby Tru HD as a minimum if you can stretch to it THX certification. Otherwise why bother with bluray you might as well upscale a dvd to 1080i and have standard 5.1. Plus no disrespect meant to anyone but LG are korian rubish any one remember Lucky Goldstar ? same company and they were hardly famed for their hi fidelity. Recent years have seen ratings improve but still not a serious contender for Home Cinema Audio IMHO For a little more money you can get a lot bang for your buck and you will be able to tell the difference. Suggest Sony, Onkyo, Denon or even panasonic etc.

It was this or the Logitech soundbar.I thought I would be clever & go straight to Hughes Direct via Quidco at 3% and the 10% code.I then smugly worked it out that with £10 postage I will have paid a whole 20 pence less than the posted deal.

Running this set with a 42LD450, a match made in heaven. The bluray remote can be used to change the tv input, switch on and off the, volume etc. Very useful! Dvd upscaling is excellent, playback from networked computers and usb is easy and produces excellent results. I'm no audiophile, but I find the sound superb compared to the weedy speakers on the tv. 2 optical inputs are enough for me, one in the sky box, one in the xbox. The speaker wire is a bit short, I needed an additional 20m of 42 stand figure 8 wire for my small terraced livingroom. Excellent product, excellent price.

If you had bothered to read the specification instead of pontificating ,this does do Dolby True HD & more

+1, just bought on whim because of this site, thanks OP.

Anyone have this model and can comment on the dlna side of things.
How do you select between pictures, movies, etc?
Can you set a slideshow and duration between slides?
Any youtube video seeing the dlna in action would be great.

This is a very cool system and excellent price. Hooked up with my LG 50PK350 and it is very good.

Cables are short, but I live in a flat, so no worries.

As for setup, the HMDI goes into the TV, then then optical inputs are used by my Sky+ and Xbox360.

Has anyone found any problems with this set or do I have a duff one?

On some of the sound settings not all the speakers are working when using the basic Sky box (Not Sky+ or HD) for input via phono.

Not expecting great hi-fi this way but certainly expected all speakers to be issuing sound in ALL the settings i.e natural, bass etc.

Not over impressed with the quality of sound either.

Has also occasionally 'Frozen' after fast forwarding a DVD and then hitting 'Play'.

Seems pretty poor quality to me.

Also LG Cust Service is REALLY poor.
I also have the PJ650 Tv but based on my experience with their so called tech dept, I will NEVER buy another LG product again.

A non-HD Sky source is not surround sound, just stereo. If you want "sound to come out of all the speakers" then you will need to switch the LG's mode to Dolby Prologic, to create a virtual surround effect from a stereo source.
