CHEAP way into DVD home theatre available until 7pm 27th march

Great value home cinema doesn't get much better than the LG HT304SU.

It's hard to think of any home cinema system that packs in so much for so little. At the heart of this LG home cinema system is a good quality DVD player. Coming complete with upscaling to 1080p and an HDMI output, you'll get a superb quality picture from your DVDs, especially if you have a 1080p TV to make the most of it. Bearing in mind that a DVD player of this standard could, alone, cost half the amount of this package system, the audio side is spectacularly fine value.

Featuring decoding for Dolby Digital and Dolby Pro Logic II, the HT304SU gives excellent surround sound results with either digital or analogue (from TV) signals. With five cute satellite speakers and VSM (Virtual Sound Matrix) you get a spacious, enveloping sound that no TV could hope to match within its built-in speakers. Then there's the subwoofer. Designed to be tucked neatly out of sight, the subwoofer boosts bass to give a cinema-like feel and a presence of "being there". With 45 watts per channel (4 ohms), the LG HT304SU isn't going to rattle windows but it's more than enough for most rooms and a great improvement on most TV's standard audio.

Other great features with this LG home cinema system include a USB socket. This allows you to plug in your MP3 player and rip music from CDs which are, of course, playable on the DVD drive. A built-in FM radio is perfect for catching up with the news or music in the morning whilst an auxiliary input lets you hook up your MP3 or iPod.

With such unobtrusive speakers and a main unit that's no bigger than a conventional DVD player, why not give your TV's speakers a break and try listening to films the way they were meant to be heard - in glorious surround sound!

Stupid question..

Can I hook this all up to my TV, and will I get audio through all the speakers without watching a DVD?

Can I just turn on the DVD and will it work like an amp?
#3
Dirt cheap and about what it is worth.

I wouldn't give it house room. Far better to put this £50 towards a decent system.

you get a spacious, enveloping sound that no TV could hope to match within its built-in speakers.
And Nor would they want to!!

Sound is muffled and difficult to control.

Ok as a pressy for Nan (Or the kids) tho.

Why do you think it is £50.00??

I think it would be ok for a little bedroom setup.

I have monitor audio rx6 and pioneer sc-lx72 amp for the main room, but watching the odd movie in bed, I think this would be ok.

Theres no audio input other than Phono (Red/White) on this model :(

That is exactly what I am thinking myself....by the way this is going to ripped to bits by some guys but as a sub £50 home cinema system this has a place whether it is in your bedroom, your caravan, your nan's house or in your lounge if you need a cheap system that will improve your tv home viewing go for it.....X)

these 5.1 speakers are so unbelievably pointless like the majority of cheap sets on the market, they have no optical or coaxial input, so no 5.1 sound from anything other then a dvd in the inbuilt player.

Which is what most people in the market for a 50 quid bit of kit will want if for....

Fine if you want your dialogue sounding like the actors have a moth full of cotton balls.

The only way that you will listen to this is with the TV speaker turned up and using the 5.1s as infil.

OK as long as the sound syncs with the TV.

Good luck.

great unit and at the price a great buy

Very poor system, not worth £50. A 2.0 setup would blow this package away. Cold
#13
They should at least put an optical connection on these cheap systems so you can hook up your games console. Stereo just isn't the same.

Yes agreed for what it would cost to add it would make such a difference to a lot of people.....

But still a corker at sub £50 for what it is intended to do, enhance your dvd experience. I am sure many will be happy with it.

if this was listed as an aldi special with the tevion brand, I bet it would get more heat, because people would expect less of a 'tevion'...

Probably right mate, imagine if it was a one off instore Tesco special it would be volcanic....hehehe

Well I just hope the nonsense people write about a sub £50 full home cinema system doesn't put people off buying because it is sure great value for money.....I have a great home cinema system at home far more expensive that is awesome but I cannot compare it to this....but it will not stop me from buying this BARGAIN......

Well I' would love peeps that are foolish enough to buy this come back and give an HONEST appraisal of its worth.

I HAVE heard these speakers and would expect to find similar at a boot sale for a tenner a set!

BUT, you just can't educate some people, can you.

And I must say konimitsu, it sounds as if you have a vested interest in promoting this crap. (I'm sure that isn't the case) :)

I have absolutely no vested interest whatsoever!!! Just sharing the deals....the whole idea of the site. I have placed a coupel fo RS deals, I have just bought a 56" Philips tv, I posted it the other day I did not buy mine from RS. I missed out on the Sony bluray I wanted so will buy elsewhere so definately no vested interested......

It is quoted above in the description "the LG HT304SU isn't going to rattle windows but it's more than enough for most rooms and a great improvement on most TV's standard audio." that to me says everything about it.... it is there to improve the tv's standard audio and this it will do....I am not making claims this is the best system but for less than £50 I bet it will enhance the listening of many people....money is tight and if you can show an option of something MUCH better for LESS or similar price I challenge you to do it.

Eduction doesn't come via pure criticism, I would love people who are wise enough to spend £50 on this system to let us know also good or bad what they think FOR THE MONEY!!!!

Just a last thought rizla, you haven't gone out and bought this system yourself for £119.95 have you? Just a thought.....:p

Keep the flaming to yourself. Konimitsu is only sharing the deals, although i believe this is a cheap deal. Everything has a use somewhere. People on this site lately has put me off posting any further deals because all you get is negative comments.

Rizla = Busted.

Pure Quality indeed. Ps OP, great post, an upscaling 5.1 DVD player for £50. Not everyone hates their neighnours enough to justify 1000w systems, nor want to watch the ornaments rattle off the fireplace, just wish it has an Optical input as I'd be ordering in a flash !
