With the LG HT305SU you can play DVDs with total maximum power output of 400W of audio output for a room-filling sound.

This compact home cinema system upscales your existing DVDs and is also compatible with DivX and MP3 formats. You can even transfer music from your CDs onto an MP3 player using the USB output on the HT305SU, without the need for a computer. And with USB Plus, you can play videos, photos and music from a USB drive onto your TV.

Get videos from YouTube, pictures from Picasa and weather reports from AccWeather with LG Netcast. The LG HT305SU also features DLNA to stream videos, pictures and music from a compatible mobile phone, laptop, PC or camera.

Sound Gallery gives you 7 simple options to enhance the sound being played, e.g. Night Mode to reduce the bass when playing movies and Game Equaliser for dramatic sound. TV EZ setup allows the audio from your TV to go direct to this LG home cinema system.

Excuse me if this is a simple question as I know somebody has already stated that there is no optical in on this.

BUT... Is optical the only way to connect a PS3 to get surround sound from blu rays and games or is there another input I could use allowing me to use this with my PS3???

anyone know of a good optical one ?
#11
Good price but I'm a bit wary of the Tesco description for this item as no other retailer mentions Youtube connectivity and most say there is no DLNA connectivity.
#12
Does no optical mean I can't plug it in to my PS3? I have no idea when it comes to things like this...:(
#13
Anyone know if it has Microphone in plugs (So can be used as a Karaoke or PA system). The South african specs say it does have 2 inputs for mics but the UK specs dont mention them.

anyone know of a good optical one ?

Logitech z5500s are good and well respected. I bought a set myself for £120 (secondhand) but don't have dvd or blueray so that would have to be bought seperately,

Around £200 for the money aswell

I'd save my money and save up for something better quality. For me if you're going to bother with 5.1 or 7.1 with your ps3, xbox etc you really need an av receiver carrying hdmi and a decent set of speakers eg. kef/jamo/q acoustics.

The difference in sound quality will be immense, not heard these but I would imagine they produce a very tinny sound in comparison.

To doubt i'll get abuse from people on a budget but its just my opinion

you've not heard them but still insist on giving your opinion on them...
that makes you stupid

Not stupid, I just know you get what you pay for, and seeing as i install av for a living i'd guess my opinion is more valid than most.

I dont need to hear these to know it wont produce the sound of a higher spec setup. In the same way I dont need to drive a daihatsu to know its a piece of crrap, if you feel offended by people expressing their opinions you're in the wrong place, as such please cut out the immature comments.
