LG IPS234V 23" Monitor - Amazon £112.98 delivered
My Acer has just packed up, 8 weeks out of warranty, so need a new monitor! Wanted a IPS for a while and this seems a great price for the 23" version.

I'm not saying it isn't, I added heat myself
How is the stand? I'm very tempted but a few of the Amazon reviews say the stand is rubbish and wobbles a lot. Does it wobble from normal typing?
No problems with refresh time, no issues with the stands, very light.
Only slight downside is that blacks arnt as black as my previous (4 year old and same price point) acer monitor, but after a day or two I hardly notice it anymore, and if anything the dynamic range seems higher, and i can see details in dark images that previously could not.
for the money, absolute steal.
I've played high speed games like COD and Need for speed, I can report zero ghosting, so don't worry about all that malarky.

These eye popping colours you speak of are thanks to the IPS..
Someone watches the Newsroom?! :D

The stability of the desk stand is pathetic (or at least was on the two I have) - every minor movement caused it to wobble. In the end I just removed them and mounted the screens on my desk using a VESA monitor arm - a much better option in my opinion.
Just to add though, they are brilliant monitors and well worth the money.

I don't think so. The standard samsung monitors have colours that are just as good if not better. IPS is just to make colours more accurate to the source.
The quality of the screen is fantastic, extremely slim, colours are very vibrant, much better than my old Acer 20" screen, well worth the money.
I watch Sky Sports through mine on the Sky Player stream and it is certainly much better quality than on my old 20" Acer.
