On these cash back deals does it affect it if you cancel the contract at end of 12 months which would mean giving notice at start of month 11 or do you have to wait to cancel at start of 12th month and then pay 1 months extra line rental. still a good deal which ever way and have ordered one for my daughter:thumbsup:

Not at all. As long as you pay for month 12 and have a bill to say so then you're okay.

Have Phones4U pulled this already? All I get is a message telling me that "An error has occurred on this control" which is what you normally see on their site when you click to an expired deal.

If still available, it's a great deal for a very good phone. It's just so damned annoying that you can't port your number to Vodafone contracts with Phones4U. If you could, I would definitely be going for this.

Was looking at buying this phone on Pay as you go, need a camera with a high quality camera.

Maybe their database isn't working properly? Their site is running really slowly so they might be under heavy serverload. I think we did succeed in temporarily bringing their server down for a few minutes when they had a day of offers like this last month.

EDIT: Yes, it's happening on every single phone I click on over on their site which would suggest a technical problem. Might be worth trying again in a while. Lunchtimes are particularly busy times on HUKD so we might be sending too much traffic over there. :)

I'm on Vodafone pay monthly at the moment, it wouldn't be a problem transferring your number being the same provider would it?

Hi,

I can confirm we are having a few technical issues on the site where the load time for each page is taking longer than expected. None of the deals Ducky has listed have gone out of stock.

We hope to have the site fully operational in the next 10 - 15 minutes

Apologies

Unfortunately, yes, it would. As I already said above, Phones4U will not port numbers to new Vodafone contracts.

Thanks, went for the silver LG.
Can't knock this company, all last years cash backs came off.
#23
Gutted, was just about to sign up, before I realised you can't port your number to Vodafone.
Not much use, is it?
Hot deal for those who don't mind sending a billion texts with new number on them and losing calls, not for me though!

Hi all. Have just got my PAC code from o2. Can I use this number for my new vodaphone contract ?

Just read post above, is porting doing this ? sorry bit naive with mobiles?

Looks like it is after googling - sorry to ask silly questions.

Yup; this is exactly what porting is, and as you said, it's not possible with new Vodafone contracts from Phones4U.

Hi,

Vodafone request that you have the number ready to transfer before you have been connected as they do not allow "temporary numbers" unlike other networks, So for this reason you will not be able to transfer your old number to Vodafone at a later stage from the time of connection :(
#29
You may be able to tell us Andy why vodafone won't allow porting through phones4u?
#30
Is the LG any good? Wanna get this for my dad who's been nagging me to get him a new moby.

does this phone have an expandable memory card slot - if so which type of card does it take ?
i just shelled oot on a 4gb m2 card and am severly tempted by this offer even more so if the mem cards are identical

I think it might be because in store they'll ring up Vodafone to put the order through. Vodafone don't seem to be able to process this automatically for any retailer...

[email protected] might be able to advise on whether or not it's possible to port afterwards, and how that will affect your cashback. :)

"Hot-swappable microSD card slot (capacities up to 4GB)."

Hi Benji,

Its quite simple really, because Vodafone require to have the pac code previous to the connection this would mean passing information from our website to vodafone's system after each order, unfortunately our online infrastructure does not allow us to do this, so its more technical then administration,

The Phones 4u stores can still use vodafone when processing a port as they would just ring up vodafone to get authorisation of the porting number and complete the transaction.

Hope thats helpful

So this means there is no posibilty of a number port as its online only deal?
I'm presuming from this I won;t be able to port to any similar deal if connecting to vodafone?

how do you get 12 months' free line rental when the link clearly shows that line rental option costs minimum £20?
