The Mobile Outlet have the LG KE970 Shine on Orange's "Canary 40" tariff with 12 months free line rental on a 12 month contract, after cashback. So, for £0 (after cashback) you get the LG KE970 Shine (for FREE), 12 months free line rental (after which you may cancel), 450 any time, any network minutes per month and 200 text messages per month.

The LG Shine is a stunning slider phone with a 2.2 inch display that doubles as a mirror when not in use. It has a 2 megapixel camera with a Schneider-Kreuznach lens that helps ensure perfect results, every time. Photos have a resolution of up to 1600x1200 pixels and the camera has autofocus, flash, zoom, continuous shoot and video record/playback. There's 70MB of internal memory and should you need more it can be expanded using a standard MicroSD memory card. The multi-function scroll wheel makes navigation of menus easy. Other features include a good MP3 player, web browser, stereo Bluetooth and flight mode.

You pay an initial £40 per month to Orange. This offer works by cashback which you claim from The Mobile Outlet at specified intervals. If you wish you can purchase via QuidCo.com who will give you a whopping £30 in extra cashback, meaning that you'll make a PROFIT of £30 on the whole thing!! The mobile outlet charge a fee for the intital credit check. This is £1.99. Remember to cancel the insurance if you don't want it as it's quite expensive. As usual, send claims recorded/special delivery as soon as you get the bill and you'll be fine. I have personally received cashback from The Mobile Outlet without any trouble, and they have a special fast-track email address for HUKD members to use should they encounter any problems.

what are mobile outlet like with cashback etc
#3
Looks a decent deal, but can't find anything on their website explaining how you get the cashback, what intervals etc...

On Vodafone you get 500 mins and 250 txts plus free phone and the 12 month free cashback
#4
Great deal, thanks duckmagicuk2 just ordered one on Organge. Kopite4eva, when you select order you can click and view the mobile outlets T&Cs which explains cashback - you do this before you actually place the order its just after the shopping basket page.

"11.3 If your cash back entitlement is more than £201 for a 12 month contract, you have to claim your money back in a 5 stage process. This cash back offer is conditional upon you complying with the exact terms of this clause. The steps in point 11.1, 11.2 only apply to contracts where the cash back entitlement is £200 or less. To claim cash back in cases where your entitlement is £201 and above you need to comply with the following 5 stages listed below. If you do not comply with the exact terms of each of these stages you will loose your entitlement to your cash back. If any one stage is not complied with, you will loose your entitlement to claim the whole of the cash back. If there have been any late payments made on your account at any time this will result in your application for cash back being void.

It is your responsibility to ensure that the relevant documentation reaches us within the relevant period. The stages of claiming the cash back are:

1. In month 4 of your contract you will need to forward bills 1through to 4 to us within 21 days of the issue date on bill number 4.
2. In month 7 of your contract you will need to forward bills 5 through to 7 to us within 21 days of the issue date on bill number 7.
3. In month 9 of your contract you will need to forward bills 8 & 9 to us within 21 days of the issue date on bill number 9.
4. In month 11 of your contract you will need to forward bills 10 & 11to us within 21 days of the issue date on bill number 11.
5. In month 12 of your contract you will need to forward to us bill 12 within 21 days of the issue date on bill number 12."

I've used The Mobile Outlet for cashback deals and they have paid up on time, would use them again.

Beware If you fail to send any part of the cashback on time or if it's incorrect & you fail to claim that part of the cashback you will loose the right to claim the rest, & it looks like they MAY be able to claim anything they may have already paid back if you read the "claim the whole of the cash back"

From their website t&c's are there is more YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

If there have been any late payments made on your account at any time this will result in you loosing your entitlement to claim the cash back and half price line rental.
All cash back and half price line rental entitlements under £200 are paid in two stages;
In month 6 of your contract you will need to forward bills 1through to 6 to us within 21 days of the issue date on bill number 6.
In month 12 of your contract you will need to forward bills 7 through to 12 to us within 21 days of the issue date on bill number 12.

11.2 If you have an 18 month contract with your mobile phone, you will have your cash back/half price line rental refunded in 2 stages. We refund your line rental/cash back in month 12 and 18. To complete the process to redeem your cash back/line rental you must provide bills 6- 12, 17 and 18. These bills must be originals and must be received by The Mobile Outlet within 21 days from the date shown on these bills; otherwise you will loose your cash back/half price entitlement. Please note when forwarding bills 6-12, these must be received together within 21 days of the bill date illustrated on bill number 12.

I too was wondering about that and I suspect its most probably for itemized billing. Very tempting deal but my contract runs a few more months :-(

As a former Carphone Warehouse employee, I know how these things work. Basically, it would make no financial difference to the Dealer (in this case the Mobile Outlet) if any of your bills were not paid on time to the airtime provider (i.e. Mobile Network). Once the dealer has signed up a subscriber (i.e. you) to a contract with the airtime provider, the dealer is eligible to receive commission from the airtime provider. The cashback deals that we see is basically the dealer sharing their commission with the subscriber. However, if the subscriber does not pay their bills on time to the airtime provider, there is no penalty for the dealer, which means there is no reason for the dealer to penalise the subscriber, i.e. The Mobile Outlet have no good reason to not pay you your cashback just because you didnt pay your bill to Orange on time.

With that in mind, It seems as though the terms and conditions which are put in place are there only to try and find a way to not pay the cashback. In fact, I would be surprised if they are legally binding. I have sufficient reason to believe they are not worth the paper they are written on, and would seriously discourage anybody from buying anything from retailers like this.

I've claimed cashback successfully, as have others. There's no problem... sure, the terms are strict, but there's no such thing as a free lunch. You WILL get the money if you make the claims correctly. Just stay organised.

Click on the link in my signature and you'll find a load of useful stuff. In there is a thread about how to succeed with your cashback contracts. Read it, do what it says, and you'll be fine...

And the £1.50 per month is itemised billing which you may cancel with Orange.

ordered the deal next to this one on the mobile outlet homepage

Samsung E900 on flext35: £120 to spend on Mins/Texts per month. This will give you up to 600 FREE cross network minutes and up to 1200 text messages each month.

have received an email giving me a link on which i can check the status of my order. quidco has tracked aswell.
#15
Yupsy, that's another good deal. :)
#16
stay well away from these cowboys. whenever u ring up enquiring about ur cashbak claim they refuse to discuss the issue and advise that ir willo need to wait a month to hear from them.

all i wanted to know whther they received my claim!

regret buying from moble outlet!
#17
I received an email when they received my claim. They also have a fast track email address for HUKD and other forums which often gets a response within a few hours.
#18
They seem to be really slow in processing orders. Ordered on the 15th and apart from the original email, nothing since.
#20
Just remember that those who are upset cry the loudest, whilst anyone with good experiences won't have posted in that thread at MSE.

I received my cashback okay, and I honestly believe that as long as you send the right claims at the right time and via recorded delivery then you WILL get your cashback... there's no reason otherwise. And if you don't stick to the T&Cs then you can't really complain to be honest... you knew what they were when you signed up and they are never "impossible" to meet.
