looks like a great phone real shame no 3G, I would have loved to put my tariff data sim in for my slingbox

Does anyone know of a decent 3G pay as you go phone. compatible with slingplayer?

Heat added cos I think its a great deal

I bought two of these on monday and both have broke since!! Plus its exclusive to carphone warehouse for a while so not really a deal because this is the only place that sells them! Still good i suppose for a full touch screen mobile for 100 quid. Its not online but earlier when i was getting replacements for the two that broke they were selling lg viewtys for £129.99 on pay as you go, much better for an extra 30 notes!

Anybody got one of these - I've seen them in the shop but don't really know much about LG phones - my nephew doesn't rate them.

"Exclusive to Carphone Warehouse". Maybe. It's more expensive at CPW's sister sites though, such as Mobiles.co.uk.

I won't buy LG since the LG Chocolate had an awful menu system. But I'd hope they have improved it a lot in later editions. I've noticed the Viewty coming down in price so certainly look for that probably if you are going to taste LG!

Nice phone and good price but no wi-fi, still hot though.

I've just signed up to an 18month contract with the LG KF750 or the "Secret".
Very nice and incredibly durable phone with a tempered glass screen and carbon fibre battery cover.
Menu is easy to navigate, with parts of the phone being touch screen accessible.
Easy to use, fantastic 5mpixel camera. Definitely recommend it! :)

There is a bit of a differrence between the 2. wifi and 3g for a start. However if you dont need either then this would be a decent choice.

Unlikely. Pretty sure nearly every phone CPW sell is unlocked. I know all the phones I, or people I know, have bough there have been unlocked.

i like all the apps i use on my iphone and i guess the only thing that would put me of getting as a spare would be the expandability. Is there stuff you can download to give it new games, utilities etc and are they plentiful or just a handful that you'll get bored of quickly.
#20
just went in today and picked up one. first impressions are good. seems easy to use, nice screen. only gripe is i need to get an adapter to use my earphones. should be able to pick one up on ebay for a few quid though. pair that with an 8gb sd card and ill be sorted

It works with my vodaphone sim, all pay as you go phones from instore are unlocked according to the sales person. dont know about online though.

Ask the staff, that should be a good enough guarantee, if they're wrong, take it back. All CPW phones are unlocked I was told today instore by 2 sales assistants.

I am surprised your "3" sim works is a "G phone.

Be careful when "3" catch you they can get nadty for using a 2G phone only

No 3g which is a shame, plus do you have to use a stylus all the time? I would say the lg kf700 is slightly better, it has the fastest 3g available, and a slide out keypad, but no accelerometer. However its only on o2.
#25
it works pretty well without the stylus. mabye when using the full keypad you might need it. i can use it just about without it as ive got small fingers but i find it quicker and easier to use the stylus.

having a full keypad is one of the main reasons i bought it.

I hate how they claim 'only £100' but you must pay £10 for phone credit. Why bother to list it as £100 when the only option is to get it at £110.

Sorry just venting.

Just to let you know I have just bought one from my local CPW and I said it was for O2 network. As I provided an existing O2 PAYG phone number, he said it would be treated as a phone upgrade so I did not pay the £10!

Have just put in my Voda sim and all works fine!

Also it's £99.95 - every little helps!!!

Heh, just updated that. Noticed it's still £99.99 on Orange though.

would love it if it had wi-fi

I bought two of these, and although the CPW staff are RUBBISH, the phones are really good. It was between this and the KF700, but I prefer the weight, slim design, no keyboard, and accelerometer of the KP500.

The interface is great, and easy to use. I have fat fingers, but still manage to get everything right - well, with around 98% accuracy so far. Only had them both today.

If anyone has any questions, please just PM me :)

Was the original O2 sim from CPW? My wife is already with O2 but can't remember where she originally signed up for it?

Does this come with headphones or a usb cable, just ordered one, looks great on their site.
#34
I must say, I bought this recently from Carphone Warehouse. I am so pleased with this phone, it is superb, the camera is excellent (although there is no flash, so not so good indoors or in low lighting) there are headphones, a usb cable. The software is cool too. Have just bought a 2gb sd card for £3.45 and i'm away...Superb!!

I thought you get a 2bg card with it, a question I have is, how many digits is the security code on it, 4 or 5 or more.Thanks.

Just check the box when they bring the phone out, if there is no network branding on the box you should be fine.
#37
this looks a really good phone 4 the price, hot!
#38
Purchased one yesterday, it's ok but I wish I had not used an Iphone, but at the price an ideal introduction to touch phones. I like the fact you can use Microsd cards with it, this is something sadly missing from the iphone.
I'm sure it will be an amazingly successful phone for the price and I like the fact you can use on any network (assuming you get the unlocked version). I hope more applications and games are launched for this phone as from the graphics I've seen it must have a powerful chipset.
#39
can someone tell me if this is unlocked if you buy it from the CPW website? I'd like to use it with vodafone. Would I need to get any particular version on there for it to come unlocked? 02 maybe?

and if they are locked, is there anyone I should go for in particular that would be easy to unlock after the fact?

thanks.
