Definately a hot deal. been looking at this set for a while at similar prices at currys and dixons, not in a position to buy atm so hope they stay this cheap!

Don't forget possible £7.42 quidco!

I got this TV a few months back at Amazon for about £330, it's a great TV with a great spec for the price...

Good price, however i was in the local branch last night around midnight (Chatham) and im sure there was a poster of this tv in the entrance area listing it for £277 ! Now please dont quote me fully on it as i didnt read it all but looks identical so folk may actually get it cheaper than they thought (This was in Asda too).Ill try and nip round their later and read it closer up to confirm if it is the exact same tv.But even at £297 its still a great price so H&R added :-)

I picked this TV up from the recent 48 hour Curry's deal, and it really is a nice TV. For a smidge under 300 notes I'm really happy with it. HD sources look spectacular, even though it's 'only' 32 inches. The most impressive thing for me is that our current SD sources (sky+ box) still look really good. The only thing is that it has now been discontinued by LG, so eventually they will run out. Which is a big shame, because I'm really happy with it.

mubi2k8, you don't need to install custom firmware, I activated the menu option with a universal remote control and it works fine. A small USB extension lead to bring the connector round to the front and it's sorted.

Now I am torn! Do I go for this as I am sure it's a better TV, or do I go to the Best Buy opening tomorrow and go for the £199 Sharp offer?!?!?
#7
Might be a great deal but there customer service is shocking. We got a 42LH3000 delivered by them yesterday, got it out of the box and the screen has a blue line down it. Phoned to get the item replaced to be told that do do this we need to wait up to 4 days for their returns team to call to arrange collection. Only when the item has been collected and returned to the warehouse will a new set be sent out. So you could be waiting up to max 2 weeks for your new set. Might be a great set and price but not worth the hassle. Stay well clear of them until they get returns process sorted.

Take your pick. Depends what you use it for. My 32" is in the bedroom and doesnt really see much 1080P unless I take the 360 upstairs so a 720P TV is fine for me.

As said earlier ...the £277 TV is a Sanyo and best avoided.

Dont be lazy, google the model number. It is 3 x HDMI according to Amazon

ASDA site..
If the product(s) has not been dispatched we will cancel the order and full payment will be refunded. If the products(s) has been dispatched and we are unable to prevent the delivery you should refuse to sign for the goods and they will be returned to us and the cost of your order refunded.

You could therefore (if you have enough cash in the bank or a credit card) order this as a backup and then nip down Best Buy tomorrow morning. If you get the £200 TV you could then just refuse the £300 TV.
I havent seen either or looked at the reviews so it depends on your budget, how long you intend to keep the TV for etc etc.

I would say this though...the £200 TV will still be worth around £200 in a year , where as the £300 LG will drop in value. You could buy the cheaper TV and see how you get on and then upgrade later for a reduced differential. It is also hard to see full HD on a 32" unless very close or hawk eyesight. That said, if you plan on gaming a lot or have SKY HD and a bluray player then it may be worth the extra to make the most of the rest of your equipment.

Seeing as you can buy 42" (which has much bigger surface area) for £400 odd I would be more likely to get the £200 jobbie myself I think. (you may not have space for a larger TV though).

In essence, make your own mind up depending on your situation :w00t:

Excellent timing...as an example this new thread shows that you could be getting a 40" 1080P TV for £400...

If you can hold out the price of HDTV's will start to drop soon with the LED tv's and the new 3D TV's coming out. You can see the prices creeping down already.

The retailers are probably holding out till after the world cup as they know people will buy new setups to watch it on.

just brought one the other day from Dixons £299.99. Really good tv
#21
Bad news everyone... it's just gone out of stock!!!
#22
Went and ordered this very same TV elsewhere last night, luckily I managed to cancel and get it from Asda. 40 quid less, and due to be delivered 6 days earlier than the place I originally ordered from. Excellent!

Was just about to buy one of these. Called nearest store to make sure they had stock. "Yes we have stock" they said "but they are over £100 more expensive in store. If you buy on-line you cannot take one of our stock. You must wait on Asda direct delivering to store which takes 7 to 10 days!!!!!!!!!".
Phoned Asda Direct and they confirmed this.........................PATHETIC!

Cheers OP, got this delivered for my GF yesterday. Great for <£300

Got mine. REALLY nice set with TONS of inputs. Replaced an older 32"lcd and it's amazing just how much stuff has come on in a few years. Cheaper/slimmer/better resolution, lighter, WAY more inputs. NICE!!!!!!!
#32
Picked mine up yesterday!! Very Happy!!

Took me a while to find the code for the Sky remote though - but with the most recent revision of Sky + HD remotes 1293 worked for me!

Apparently, 1423, 1451, 1691 and 0206 work, depending on remote.

This tool pretty good http://www.sky.com/portal/site/skycom/skyhelpcentre/producthelp?nodeId=73a6e9e0-0ade-4eed-810b-cec670799bcc&articleId=5184410
