is it a good basic starter phone .for teen , would you say !!?

Is this one of those old style mobiles that you speak to people on? LOL

Seriously, this should get scorching, but it probably won't as it 'only' enables you to speak to someone.

Hot from me..

Just ordered one to replace a Samsung E1100 whose battery is dying. Cheapest replacement battery is £10. Can also get nearly £4 from topdollar for recycling the Samsung. So, bottom line is that I pay £10.19 for this, get £6 cashback from Quidco and nearly £4 from topdollar for old phone. Net result is that this phone with £10 credit actually costs me £0.19. Is it me, or is the world really going mad? Voted hot.

and, yes, it is a good basic starter phone for a teen if all they want to do is speak and text and not have control of technology capable of landing a man on the Sun (Star not newspaper).

Did you mean the Star is not a newspaper? Or the Sun isn't a newspaper?

It is, going to give it to the mother in law as her's has gone wrong and all she want it for so we can get hold of her when she is out and about.

They are good for the children to give so you know where they are or if they want to phone home, or to stick in the car just in case you brake down or what ever.

Nice one! Another unlocked spare mobile and more 2 for 1 at the cinema...

As it says unlocked, I assume I can use a 3 mobile SIM card in it? I need a cheap replacement until my contract ends after a few more months.

Anyone know?

Pretty sure 3 SIMS only work in 3G handsets?

Great little, basic phone.
suspended#16
what other mobiles are good?

if you just want the sim card with £10 credit you could sell it to fonebank for £2
http://www.fonebank.com/recycle_sell_mobile_phone_LG_GS101.aspx?aff=webgains&siteid=11628

so £10 credit for £2.19 but to be honest i dont think its worth the effort
#18
Ordered one as a spare :)
Great that its unlocked. Heat up!
Lets hope Quidco tracks ok.

I'm seriously looking at going back to basics with phones.
Wouldn't mind just a small text receiving device that could go on a keyring, if anyone knows of anything approaching that size and simplicity.

A bit wierd it being priced at £0.19? Any used mobiles.co.uk?

Lol. Knew someone would come back on that one. There are some who would say neither the Sun nor the Star is a newspaper, both more like comics.

£5 annual fee to pay at Quidco.
e2Save doesn't state "unlocked"
Bought last night via TCB and cashback already tracked.

Pouting refusal to accept defeat. Sulking petulantly.
#30
e2save is only free handset when locked to orange or tmobile. So i's perfect for orange wednesday people.

really wound up by the company, as its only a payg they do not need to credit check you, even though I am fine.

Anyway they took the money, but before they did that they took £1 off the card (this sometimes flags up as fraud to your card company, as scammers do this just to check if a card is active) anyway I got this auto voice phone call thing from santdar because of this.... grrrrr
#32
Received mine Sat morning. Still waiting for credit to be activated.
#33
yeh!! how come, I cant used the sim yet,,do i need to do something?

Many thanks. I ended up buying "several" of these phones from various companies.

Both my children now have enough credit to last them 'til next Christmas!
#39
Will mobiles.co.uk charge me if the SIM is deactivated? Because they say they'll do that but it looks like it's just for contract phones. I ask because I want to put another SIM card in.
