Bought one from amazon last week, for £180, great picture quality, works great with ps3 and Dvd player with HDMI upscale. Iam using it for a bedroom TV, only draw back is that the speakers arent the best. But ive got some small speakers hooked up and they work great. Def would recommend this tv.

i agree the speakers could be better. picture is definately superb. still trying to find a cheap but good hdmi upscale dvd player to go with it!

Does the unit itself not upscale successfully? With most modern televisions except the poorest (Wharfedale / Acoustic Solutions etc.) there is no benefit from an upscaling player.

not a clue, how would i know it does that or is meant to? suppose the picture is pretty good through my 5 years old philips dvd player!

When upscaling through HDMI the processing is done through the external source - i.e Blu-ray/DVD player or games console. In which case, the better the player you have.. the better overall image quality you will have (given the limitations to the LCD display itself). All televisions have some level of upscaling for normal TV and freeview so it shouldn't be a problem I guess.

I don't know what I'm looking for but my LG W2228D doesn't upscale very well. Via scart there is a blur (visible on all the text) which then adjusts itself in just under a second. Plus the picture via the SD inputs seems quite poor, but I may just have unrealistic expectations of what the quality should be.

Am tempted, given that this seems to be height adjustable. Is there also 3% cashback via non-Quidco cashback sites? Or is it taboo to mention them on this site? Not sure ! lol

One niggling thing for me tho - I can't find this specific model on the LG website. There is no LG M227WD-PZ , rather there is only LG M227WD.

Do you know if this PZ makes any significant difference to the montior specs listed on the LG site???

I got two of these for the kids and I can confirm I think they are very good.

Have hooked them up with the Philips DVP3980 - good results!!!!

Are you just using the headphone socket for your speakers?

I would guess that they are the same model. If you check the specs, they are exactually the same http://www.lge.com/uk/it-products/monitors/LG-lcd-monitor-M227WD.jsp#features

Sorry to rebump this thread but have been looking at getting this monitor from Dixons - and I notice the original OP refers to a 3-year warranty. I can't find any mention of this on the website though! Is there one as standard at Dixons does anyone know?
