Was looking around to see if I could pick up a cheap 2014 LG Magic Remote (MR-500) to go with the WebOS tv I bought. This is by far the cheapest that I could find...(£40-45 was the next cheapest I could find).

Delivery won't be for an estimated 1-2 months but I know it's often quicker than Amazon estimate.

Edit: Back in stock 8 pence more and ready for delivery, no 1-2 month wait.

My dad has one for his LG575v tv (MR-400) I think. It's a great little gadget but I downloaded the LG remote app for my Samsung S4 and I can do most things that the magic remote does, i.e. it puts curser on screen which I can move by moving the phone.

Yep I have the app myself and you're right it does a lot of what the magic remote will do. I do find the the app quite flakey (crashes for no real reason) and often don't end up using it as it involves the enormous chore of finding and opening the app (it's not that much of a chore but do find its no replacement for a real remote).

Tempted! Would unlock some of the potential of my TV. No magic remote included when I bought my 2013 LG.
Robertofry, do you know if the voice search allows you to boot netflix/iplayer or search the programmes there, or only search broadcast shows?

you are on the ball. I ordered @ £22.38.just 2 days ago. haven't received my tv yet. expected today but courier didn't ship.

I know it's for 2014, but is it still compatible with 2013?

I given heat anyway as it is a god price. If this was a Sony product it would be at least 3 times this inline with their wifi dongle prices.

Same question as well.

That's so last year!

Is the sensor included?
#11
Good price. But dispatched I. 1 to 2 months
No thanks

Not sure if it'll work with 2013 tv. I'd imagine it would but couldn't be sure, plus smart platforms have changed.

Presume that this comes with a dongle (or sensor built into tv) as you can't buy dongle separately as far as I can tell.

So this is like an air mouse then?

Same question too

2014 webos models have the sensor inbuilt also wifi.
#18
You can use your smartphone which does everything this does for free.

I had one with my last lg tv for some reason it doesn't work on my new lg tv but I have to say it's just as easy with the standard remote. I did really like the magic remote but it was annoying at times

Pretty much.

OH has one with a 2013 LG. She's tech-phobic and she gets on well with it. Prefers it to the standard remote and smartphone app.

Great price. We paid twice this. Heat.
#22
Oh. Expired. No heat. :(

Roberto did you receive your remote? I got mine Thursday past and delighted with it. Did you buy one of the new Webos tvs also?

Darn it! I missed this Back in stock post even though I'm subscribed to the thread. I only clicked on here because I got a notification to say the above poster commented just now. It's now £24.95. It's not as good a deal but I'll probably order it anyway as it's still cheaper than others are selling for at the moment.

Yes - received it only yesterday, but so far it seems pretty good. Not sure I've set it up properly yet. Also have the Webos TV I posted a deal for (didn't get so hot!), very happy with that - think it's a great TV. Guess you got one too?

I still think it's a good deal in comparison to anywhere else - was thinking of reposting. Well worth getting IMO.

Yep. That's what I said at the end of my post :)

Roberto, you've cost me a lot of money with your hotdeals, but I'm delighted with the TV and the magic remote - thanks! Did you upgrade the firmware on the tv? I couldn't get access to lg store until I did. I se another new version just available 03.23.24. Apparently there is V4 of firmware released in some geographies. There is no changelog so not quite sure what they are adding.

I don't understand why your tv deal did not go superhot, I guess there haven't been many public reviews yet. The one I did see was very positive.
