I have this , cant say enough good things about it, using it mainly as a monitor and it's so damned crisp.

You've got an OLED TV as a monitor?

Not great 38ms or so but they are releasing a gaming mode according to twitter

They're slowly getting down to a price I can afford. Another £1k off and I'll only be £200 short ;)

Apparently they have anti-burn features, but you'd have to be pretty carefree to drop £1700+ and use it for something that everyone agrees it's not meant to be used for :)

I have one of these and i love it i bought it from RS for £1899 with a 6 year warranty and im safe in the mind that if it goes wrong it will be repaired or replaced even after 5 years where as this is cheaper but Curry's warranties aren't worth the paper they are written on. When things go wrong with stuff you buy from Currys your lucky if you get it fixed and you have to jump through hoops and Christ help you if it breaks again then you will be on your own. Id advise anyone shelling out the best part of £2000 to buy from somewhere where there warranties mean something other than trying to sell you stuff, somewhere like Richersounds or John Lewis as you might save £100 going in but it wont be worth the headache if it goes wrong with Currys you could end up loosing £1700. Before im slated ive had plenty of dealings with Currys and there warranties, once with a washer that had their extended warranty which broke and i ended up paying to replace it. Then again with a Samsung Galaxy note 10.1 that they had back 5 times and sent back saying no issue found eventhough we had shown the sales guy it over heating in store on more than one occation again we gave up and the tablets now thrown in a cupboard upstairs usable where its been for 8 months and im not going to start with the LG tv we had from there, needless to say spend a bit more and avoid Currys altogether, its that bad my Missis wont even buy a toaster from there now.

Its just recieved the update that fixes no picture when HDCP is enabled on the PS4 Pro and the gaming mode should be just a couple of weeks away as they have updated all other models including LED/LCD's the B6 has a different SOC than the other OLED's which requires some tweaks to the FW.

still over inflated prices for these tvs
#18
What is like to know is, are these Oleds £900 better at what they do compared to a top spec 4k LED?
Are they worth the large premium?
#19
800 quid does not get you a top spec 4k LED. This OLED is actually around the same price as a Panasonic DX902B, which would be a top spec 4k LED.

You hit diminishing returns towards the top of any product range. OLED TVs are very different, though - their pixels are made up of actual LEDs that can be addressed individually as opposed to traditional LCD technology of shining white light through coloured elements. It's bound to cost more, and commands far higher contrast ratios as pixels can be turn off completely rather than relying on simply blocking light as LCDs do.

tried this code the other day but it was only valid on select tvs, expired now :( tv100 still works for £100 off

Are you sure it wasn't the TV10 code you tried which doesn't work with this TV? 10TV is the one that worked

still looking around for a decent TV this seems a good price - does anyone if there is a real difference between b6 and e6 apart from price and the 3d, as I have heard that the e6 has a better SOC which improves quality of image but not sure if it is worth the extra £
any useful input greatly appreciated
also considering a quantum dot and not sure if this upgrade is worth the extra £
#24
also seem to get sky q with this deal

Although LG confirmed they will release a firmware update to fix the input lag issue, they also said they are working on a solution for 2017 LG TV models which may include the option of an HDR gaming mode.
This price is tempting but I will wait for next year's line up.
#26
As well as 3D the E has the speakers below the panel - with a "soundbar" look - but they're just the TV speakers.

The B has a different SOC which therefore has different firmware so there may be odd differences - but "E has better picture quality than B" is just one of those user posts that got traction and gets repeated - I would go on the basis that you won't get a better picture on the E. Some lag measurements do seem lower on the E.

Having a different SOC also means the HDR firmware update is coming out later on the B than the E. It actually looks more like a "HDR game mode" in the end, judging by reports. There will be loads of changes on the 2017 models - but yo'll have to wait another 12 months for them to be at this price.

The E model is the one I am going to be looking at in the new year. Do you know how they perform on games and sports? Rugby and F1 are my main sports and I play all sorts of games.

Ah, you're right! Thanks for that! My wife might not be so thankful as I think I might finally give in and order as I can get another 7% off through discount scheme at work so it works out at £1589.47!
