I'm so tempted, though unsure what to do with my 51 Samsung Plasma. Tough if to buy the best of the last 3D or hold out a few more years!?

I think you've got the wrong section... this is the deals section, not the voting section.
Oh wait, there is no voting section on this website. You've got the wrong website mate!

I sold my Sammy 55" for £250 to get rid of it and bought the LG OLED 55". All I can a say is its stunning compared to the Plasma Sammy go and snap it up if you have the pennys :-)

Hard nowadays to resell tv's to get close to the value. I know at one point everyone liked Plasma and to be honest, there's nothing wrong with it. Just googling around and having walked into Currys the other day, these OLED tv's look so good!

May have to try hold off in the hope that larger sizes reduce somewhat in price.

The 2017 version of this is 5 grand so top of the range (apart from g6 that had a slightly better sound bar attached) only 12 months ago and almost 60% of the price dont seem too bad. But then 3k for a Tv hurts. Would prob have to try tell the mrs it was only £800 and hide the receipt

Well it's the cheapest around I can find. I know what you mean from the discription.
It's sort of a good deal as the cheapest. Informative to tell folk, 3D is gone from 2017 range...and a side sprinkle of..anyone out there made same switch to help keep me on the diving board or push me off to spend the pennies.

Which model did you opt for? I know loads on forums kept the Plasma when LCD was the big push over last few years. Now though there seems to be rave reports on OLED. 55" seems decent price, 65 is expensive but the new flagship 77" Wallpaper one at £25,000 is a little over budget, lol

Hmmm, people voting cold, yet I can't find it cheaper elsewhere?

I guess it's still a lot of coin in the end. Hopefully it will save someone some money that is looking as it's around £3-500 more expensive everywhere else!

Cold for me. The 55" OLED B6V for <£1500 looks like a much better buy. Double the price for an integrated soundbar and 10" is steep.

If you are hell bent on sticking to 65" then the Samsung KS8000 for <£1500 also looks like a much better buy.

I had the 8000 series sammy and bought the HD OLED LG for £1300 the 4k OLED were £2500 at the time and out of my price range, however I thought as 4k was a while away I'll go for the HD version and the picture honestly is stunning and its curved, 3D and hardly any edges around it. 55EC930V I went for

Yeah, but can your car do 3D and HDR?......come to think of it, can it handle Crysis?

Well pointed out Jawz. If you want 65" and 3D, this is pretty much your last chance. Why have the rest when you can have the best?

That's my thoughts, the best of 3D for now. Unless they design 3D TV's without the need for glasses, it may not get introduced again. Though I do see a great opportunity for one of the lesser brands to tag it on as a selling point.

Also seems as though less Tv's are incorporating optical sound ports. So that may be important if you are using a AMP or like me a DVD Surround for your attached 5.1

Such a shame for 3D as from the reviews of many, say that should people have tried 3D on these 4K OLED the whole perspective would be different as the picture is so much brighter and clearer! Mine are active glasses for my 3D, so darkens the picture quite a bit.

Not sure what other numbers are left to chase for the TV manufacturers. Guess now it's all about nits and how bright can we go without burning the back of your head. Or introducing HDMI 2.1 for greater bandwidth.

The next great tech, maybe where there is almost zero lag and connections can be made to the Tv without wires!?......Now that would save the ridiculous amount of cables behind my TV.

Anyways, I'm waffling to myself. Thanks for reading.....going back to Currys later to look in amazement, stroke the TV and see if we get on enough to part with 3 large ones.......hmmmmm :0)

I think you will find the passive 3D such a huge step up from active. I often use the fake 3D for hours on end without the slightest hint of discomfort, eye strain or a headache. I agree that sub standard 3D killed it. If it had started with the 4K passive OLED's, it could have been another story.

Chasing these nit values is also just marketing. Start watching these insanely bright TV's for more than half an hour and your eyes feel trashed.

If 3k is too much to lay out, consider the 55" C6 at half the price?

No, it's a site for members to highlight the cheapest prices available for a product.

It's a shame the majority of the community fail to understand this and vote cold on premium products, regardless of whether it is the cheapest price available.

I disagree with you, this site is for finding bargains/ hot deals/ significant price reductions or at the bare minimum a reasonably good deal on a product, not to highlight that a TV is cheaper than anywhere else but still WAAAY too expensive/overpriced to bother posting it as a "DEAL"

There is "premium" and then there is over 3 grand for a Tele :D You can get really good OLED TV's for under £1500 or even closer to £1000 so why would anyone bother paying over 3000 for one? This is not a deal... Hence the fact that it is Cold and not Hot haha!

The clue is in the name of the Website/App. How can you justify spending over £3000 on a TV? When there are really good TV's for half of the price?

Can someone point me in the direction of a tv this size and similar features including 3D for half the price? Thank you.

This isn't just a direct reply to you, as I'm open for discussion and everyone has the right to put their piece forward.

To use another analogy; If I posted a Audi R8 brand new for £50k so well under half the original selling point. Would this not be classed as a deal? Or the fact you could just get a Audi TT for a lot less than that as they are similar, it would no longer be a deal?

Or still using a car scenario...A Ford Focus RS for £15k brand new, again less than half the amount. Would that still be classed as a cold deal as you can get a focus or many other brands of cars for significantly less?

Pair of brand new Levi's for £20.....Nope...George do em for a tenner...very similar...cold deal!?

Where is the price bracket rated, for when something isn't a deal or is.

What I posted was over twice as much 12 moths ago. It also has features that are omitted going forward. Arguably the top in its class. The cheapest place to get said product is the cheapest by over 10% in most cases.

I think I defended the post enough and all have their own views. Just a shame I didn't find Uncharted 4 for the PS4 with another 20p knocked off from last weeks find.....maybe then it would have been deal of the day!?

Anyways, thanks for everyone's input, don't mean it in a serious way, just confuses me sometimes how some things can be scorching and others cold. I mean, no2 spot today goes to a post with some discounted lingerie and then it's classed as an amazing deal.....really....should I have included a half naked woman laid across a Tv stand to get my vote count up.....jeeez....ha ha

This large tv is busting with 3D tech. Seeing is believing. Bags of fun and once tweaked and unwrapped, tit will look great in any room and provide hours of fun.
In a Tom Cruise voice now "Shooow meee the votes!"

There may be good TV's @ £1500 but OLED is another level. The 3D on these OLED's is so much better than the competition, that you are comparing watching 3D for half an hour and getting a headache to watching for entire evening without any issue. If you are into 3D, these OLED's are worth every penny, (especially as this is the last chance to buy them.)

But this is a significant price reduction and it is a site for highlighting the cheapest price available, it is the whole point of the site so both your points are moot.

Just because it's £3k does not make it a bad deal, there will have been many people watching the prices of OLED's in this bracket and using sites such as this to find the best deals.

Wow the Tv prices are dropping, especially on the Currys Bank Holiday offer, just shame its C.

C £2,600
E £3,200
G £3,500

Now if you are getting E, may as well pay extra for the G.
However is the G worth £900 more than the C?

Just unsure I could live with the curve, though I have seen a few reviews where people say it's only slight. Just wish the C was a flat screen at that price. Could then argue the £900 left over could go towards an amp and speakers.....hmmm?
